Oldest 767s and other airliners still in service

Sat Apr 22, 2017 7:54 pm

A while back I posted a story on one of the oldest 747s stil flying: https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=563543

I thought it would be fun to see what other oldies are still out there, starting with the B767 YA-KAM, a 34 year old B762 originally delivered to UA, currently flying for Kam Air in Afghanistan. Except for a bomb-scare in 2009 the plane seems to be doing just fine and is as far as I can see the oldest 762 still in active service today.

The oldest B763 seems to be 30-year old N594HA flying with HA, originally delivered to DL back in 1986.

Some of the oldest other models:

B752: The "Catfish" operating for Boeing, 35 years old (1982):

A320: VT-EPF operating for AI, 30 years old.

A300: XA-TWQ operating for AeroUnion, 40 years old.

ATR42: HP-004APP with Aeroperlas, 31 years old.

BAe146: VH-NJV with Australian Air Express, 35 years old.

B747: S2-AFA with Logistic Air, 47 years old.

MD81: N682RW with Olympia Aviation, 36 years old.

Feel free to make corrections and additions of your own! Personally the oldest plane I've flown is LN-KKL, a then 26 year old B733 with DY.

There are older 767-200s in operation as converted freighters. Many are flying for DHL.

N740AX takes the prize for the oldest 767 in service, a 767-232F that's 35 years old flying for ABX

The details on that photo's page list it as being line number 1. Good call.

767 LN 1 is apparently still in storage as Boeing used it for some kind of defence development work. It's been at VCV since 2007

Ahh ...it was something I was reading up on a while back :P

Also according to planespotters.net 767 LN1 has been scrapped along with LN2.

However airfleets thinks LN2 is in storage.

And for anyone who cares 777 LN1 is at Cathay Pacific...

47 years old? wonder what insurance implications that frame must have. Would be fascinating to strip it down like a deep check to see the fatigue hotspots.

If I use Airfleets:
http://www.airfleets.net/listing/b757-1.htm

Oldest 757 active is DHL, 1982, circa 35 years old.

22173 10 757-236SF DHL Air 23/12/1982 G-BIKB Active

Oldest 737 is
19424 147 737-248 Peruvian Air Force 15/03/1969 FAP 353 Active

48 years old... Wow. Is it really still active?

Yup, that'd be LN 6, originally delivered to Delta.

Unless it's in a hangar it was scrapped or flown somewhere else sometime in the early 2010s.

Part of the fuselage is in the Boeing archives:

The oldest 767 in passenger configuration is not YA-KAM. That is #4.

HS-JAB (Jet Asia Airways) - LN 10 (flies between DMK/BKK/UTP and various ports in China/Japan)
VP-CME (Midroc Aviation - Saudi Government) - LN 30 (VIP flights)
N767MW (MLW Aviation - Atlas Air) - LN 32 (various sports charters and military charters)
YA-KAM (Kam Air) - LN 49 (flies mostly between Kabul and Delhi)

You are a little off with VT-EPF.....I just took a look in the company database and that airframe has a first flight date of July, 1989....so that puts it at about 27 almost 28 years old...not 30.
My other car is an A320-200

Oldest Fokker F-100 still active is P2-ANE with Air Niugini, 27 years old but has been in storage several times.

Oldest 737-700 still active is N700GS with Southwest Airlines, 20 years old. Has always flown for Southwest.

752 G-BIKB, CN 22173, LN 10 rolled out at BFI on 24 September 1982, first flight 23 December 1982, delivered to BA on 25 January 1983, converted to a freighter by ST Aerospace between October 2001 and June 2002 and leased initially by European Air Transport but latterly by DHL Air is still in service. According to Flightaware it operated CIA-LEI as QY7079 on Friday last (21 April). I think that one, slightly older former BA 752, 'KA (LN 9) that also eventually went to DHL Air has now been withdrawn from service after flying LIS-MAD on 24 December 2016..

So 'KB that entered service in February 1983, has so far seen 34 years 2 months service. According to the CAA web site it had flown 50,686 hrs as at 12 May 2016.

Aeroperlas shut down many years ago, and I have no clue where HP-004APP went to. Most likely another TACA Regional airline somewhere in Central America, but it sure isn't in Panama anymore.
