I so wish they'd adopt A380 livery on all their fleet.

it will feature the "Negaraku" emblem with special livery on a few aircraft; highlight Malaysian heroes who have brought pride to the country in the inflight magazine; and present special content in the inflight entertainment.

While the model in the image does look like an a350, apparently it's in conjunction to "My country" campaign launched by the airline and I couldn't find any specific details that show which and how many will have the special livery.

Only the "Negaraku" (My Country) emblem that will be plastered on customer touchpoints. The livery is a one off.

I actually like it. I personally think it should be adopted fleet wide. It's time for MH to move forward with one solid livery. Just my two cents.

I don't even know what MHs actual livery is. Is it the A330 one? Is it the A380 one? Or is it both (weird).
WhT livery will the standard A350s wear?
A319, A320, A321, A330-200, A350-900, A380, 737-700, 737-800, 777-200ER, 777-300, 777-300ER, 787-8, Q300, Q400

I am not sure even MH knows the answers to those questions.

I am not sure even MH knows the answers to those questions.

Here is the list:
1. Old cheatline livery with grey belly on one or two B737-800NG. To be retired if MAB can strike a deal with lessor to return them this year, earlier than scheduled.
2. All blue "malaysiaairlines" logo with two strokes livery. Some A330-300 and B737-800NG have this, in line with MH's ascension into oneworld.
3. Blue and red "malaysiaairlines" logo with two strokes livery. Spotted by most of the A330-300 and B737-800NG fleet
4. Landor all blue livery on A380 fleet.
5. And this special one-off for one A350-900. The rest of A350 fleet should follow #2.

Note:
For #2 and #3, there are also two variant for the "wau" logo on tail fin. Some have it enlarged and aligned with rudder, sticking all the way to the end. Some is much smaller, centralised in the middle of tail fin.

Prior to Christop Mueller's departre, MAB has engaged Dato Farah Khan, a prominent fashion designer and businesswoman to design and make new uniform, in line with new branding soon to be launched. Not sure if the plan is now on backburner. They also hired a new, very talented Chief Marketing Officer to head the Marketing and Group Communication Dept.

Thanks for this, and what a mess. I can't think of many major airlines that have done as bad a job as MH in rolling out forgettable liveries. It seems to be continually testing the waters with tweaks, and never seeming to get it right. This one-off A350 is fine as far as special liveries go but the flag's too in-your-face, I feel, but maybe that's the intended effect anyway. Given MH's track record (pre- and post-restructuring), I don't have high expectations that we'd be wowed by anything it comes up with.

Juliuswong can you give photo links to the four MH liveries you refer to? As far as I know MH only has three different liveries and not four. I don't recall the number two livery you mention(?)

Please MH just adopt this, its looking better with age and appropriate to the times, the red blue livery looks so 1990s.

I agree 100%, it is much nice than the red and blue livery.

Just noticed MH have gone back to using MAS instead of MAB, when did this happen?

The A380 livery dosent remind one of the accidents, the red blue one even in its revised form still does that, so another plus.

Thanks for the photo CanadaFair. I didn't know about this livery. How many aircraft are painted in this "blue titles" livery?

Is there a timeframe as to when MH will go for one livery?

I must be in the minority as far as not liking the A380 scheme that MH has. Too much white and boring dark blue. Especially on the tail. I really liked the 2 tone red and blue tail design from before. The rest of the plane just looks like Egypt Air to me. Not necessarily bad but boring that they couldn't come up with their own design.

I'm not really liking the A380 scheme either. It's just 2 shades of blue, white and not much else!

Not really a fan of the current livery on the A330 and 737 either. While it looks better than the A380, still too much white going on with very little color on the fuselage. More like a splash.

The livery on the 777 and old 737's and A330s were much better.

That's what you get when people start meddling in the affairs of others.

The A380 livery wasn't really planned to be a one off. It was supposed to be the long haul livery in the aborted short haul/long haul split that was mooted during the AirAsia share swap fiasco back in 2012. The short haul concern will get the same livery in red. Public opinion were negative, and here's the irony - most of the loudest yelling people hardly ever fly MAS, if at all!

In the end the split didn't happen, the swap rolled back, and MH370/MH17 happened.

Hi CanadaFair, thank you for the correction. Apologies, title and logo are somehow interpreted differently by individual since English is not first language in many SEA countries. But what you have mentioned is correct, the correct term here should be "title".

Actually the blue font is on all aircraft delivered after May 2013 if I'm not mistaken. 9M-MSE was the first to sport the blue font fresh from factory. The list is as follows

738
From factory
-MS series: 9M-MSE to 9M-MSJ
-MX series: 9M-MXP to 9M-MXY

Repaints
-MX series: 9M-MXB, 9M-MXE, 9M-MXF, 9M-MXG, 9M-MXH, 9M-MXJ, 9M-MXL

oneworld livery
9M-MXC

A333
Repaints
9M-MTD
9M-MTG

oneworld livery

Operating and trading company are still MAB: https://www.malaysiaairlines.com/my/en/ ... group.html. As for Twitter, they may have changed it since the general public is used to calling it MAS since its existence.
