The 77E on MIA-LAX is for repositioning, maybe?
No A321T. The Transcon product is route specific, designed for LAX/SFO-JFK.

Good utilization, and they wouldn't have a problem filling it up. It definitely would be sad to see no widebodies on MIA-LAX.

Not the end of the world. LAXMIA doesn't command nearly the same premium demand and associated yields as LAXJFK or SFOJFK, and the F fares on LAXMIA are at times even lower than the J fares on traditional transcons.

Well when competitors JetBlue delta airlines are adding lie flat seats on trans con routes other than JFK San Francisco LAX and yeah it is kind of a big deal.

The transcon product is route specific and includes upgraded meals, lounge access, etc. It is designated to three routes - the third being MIALAX. Still don't think AA will put an A321 on it, but equipment aside, AA treats MIALAX the same as JFKLAX/SFO.

The two daily B6 Mint flights will take plenty of business from AA if the route goes all 32B.

Has much has Id like AA to make BOS a focus city and have A321T on the route, I for sure think they Need to Protect and run them on MIA routs to be competitive for all the South America routs. Id like CLT also but think MIA is a MUST.

Especially if B6 adds more FLL/LAX mint flights, which I think will happen.
Right now, MIA/LAX FC on 32B are going for twice B6 mint price on a lot of dates.

Especially if B6 adds more FLL/LAX mint flights, which I think will happen. And big if, they get a321NEO/LR and put them on FLL to more premium heavy destination in South America.
Right now, MIA/LAX FC on 32B are going for twice B6 mint price on a lot of dates. I'm sure a lot of those are purchased for connection flights, but I would bet there are a lot of free upgrades there.
Jo8338 wrote:I spoke with some gate agents at both MIA and LAX and the word is that since the 32B entered the route almost no upgrades. Maybe one or two on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

To be fair, the AA Domestic schedule is still the dummy schedule after August 21st-ish. It will be a a few months before we know for sure if the 77W will stay on MIA-LAX when the November schedule is firmed up

LOL at "free upgrades" on MIALAX. It's harder to upgrade than JFKLAX. Even the 77W. I used to rely on upgrades and now I just buy F/J. It's impossible.
I've heard rumblings that once AA is done refitting their long-haul 757 fleet that those will appear on MIALAX. They are adding the A321 J seats to 35 757s, far more than needed to operate AA's small 757 long-haul network. As of now 19 at converted.
tphuang wrote:B6 mint just started 2 month ago on this route with only 2 daily flights. Once that builds up more recognition on this route and add frequencies, it could become a problem for AA if AA sticks with 32B. I'd love to see some lie flat seats on non-A321T narrow body aircraft for some of these transcon routes, but it just hasn't happened.

Meaning that F is full on the 32B flights with paid passengers?

I didn't know that. Good for us here in MIA.Jo8338 wrote:The only issue is these have no wifi and the retrofit didn't include IFE. They can get around the IFE with the Samsung tablets but the lack of wifi is an issue.
Well that's a step backwards from the current international 757 fleet. Currently in F, they have the inflight map available, but if they've taken out the monitors from each F seat, then I guess that means no more flight map.
Jo8338 wrote:You are correct. It is a step backwards for the 75's. The remaining birds have plenty of like left. Wifi and IFE would have extended their life 10 years. Some are only 15 -16 yrs old and have low cycles which is mid life for a 757.
