Mojave Storage Question

I know that there is still a Convair 880 and 990 intact there. Is there any interest in preserving these as they are definitely the last of their kind? Also, in photos from there I have noticed quite a few Gulfstream 2 and 3 there. Is this the only place where they have gone to be scrapped as they are no longer permitted to fly?

Norm Hill Aviation at California City Municipal also handle recycling old Gulfstreams.

There was a group of Delta retirees that was working on a CV880 out there. Not sure what the plans were. I have friend who flew the last TWA CV880 out of there and back to Atlantic City a few years ago. I'll ask him what's happening these days.

I see Gulfstreams being parted out at VNY from time to time as well.

How long would one keep an airliner there before chopping it up?

Also, does anyone know how many aircraft stored in Mojave are ever returned to any kind of service?

Here's a link to some of the photos I took of the Convair and also from Mojave and Victorville back in 2011. it was being used as a gate sentry at that time but not sure if it's still there
