Gulfstream G2 #1 Question
With all of the Gulfstream 2 and 3 being or already withdrawn, does anyone know the status of G2 C.N. 1. It was still active as far as I know at the end. It would be nice to preserve it as it is the first and long and successful line of aircraft. It is like the 737 type of success of corporate aircraft

It is actually currently at the Carolinas Aviation Museum, former N55RG, SN001.

Yes, I saw it there in March 2013.
However, I first saw this plane at Heathrow WAAAY back in 1976 (it was 10 years old then!)

Thanks for the article. I am glad that this has been done. It is just up the road from me. I will have to go and visit. The only problem that I have is that with all of t he meticulous restoration work that they did, they failed to put the original style nose cone on it and remove the winglets. Other than that it is great.

On a side note the last G-2 was at my airport PIE up until the middle of last year. N689JE was bought by someone in Mexico and ferried to South Florida to get a fresh repaint and start life elsewhere. I do remember one summer night 2 years ago, it was storming (go figure) and they came in during low visibility performed a go around and screamed past the airport. Never forget the classics.
