Every aircraft according to the airline have been sold. On the 29th they will place a tail section of a Fokker at Schiphol East to commemorate the long history between KLM and Fokker. Yeah, I was hoping for another farewell flight(s) but that's probably not going to happen. :(

Several Fokkers have left their home in the last few days.
PH-KZP left for Norwich at October 2.
PH-KZA left Amsterdam at October 6 and is flying between Al Ain International Airport (AAN) and r. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport (NAG).

Only 7 Fokkers left at Amsterdam. (PH-KZS, -KZM, -KZB, -KZC, -KZI, -KZK and the special livery -KZU which will fly the very last KLM Fokker flight KL1090 from LHR to Amsterdam on October 28). Only 3 weeks left to go...

Rumours are going around 3 of the 7 will leave for Norwich on October 28 after their last flights to Amsterdam with the last 4 to leave for Norwich on the 29th.
(as previously announced).
PH-KZU will be the very last Fokker to leave home base.

You're right. I accidentally switched -KZL with -KZC.

So at this moment: PH-KZL, -KZS, -KZU, -KZM, -KZB, -KZI, -KZK.

In exactly one week's time, the last KLM Fokker F70 flight will land at Schiphol Airport from London Heathrow as KL1070.
That will be the end of 21 years of F70 at the airline and 97 years of Fokker aircraft at KLM.

It once started with the Fokker II flying this same route from Amsterdam to London on September 15, 1920.

Always wondered how KLM was able to keep their F70 wings/tails in almost mint condition...did they get new wings?

I had the pleasure of flying on the Anthony Fokker liveried PH-KZU last week on KL0919 AMS > SOU and considering the age of these birds they have been kept in immaculate condition by KLM and they fly very well. Be a shame to see them leave.

Well, the day has come. Tomorrow wil be the final day of Fokker aircraft at KLM.
As I'm writing this; 6 of the remaining Fokkers are either at Schiphol or at airports in abroad.
PH-KZU (with the Anthony Fokker livery) has just departed Amsterdam for Basel, 2 more Fokkers will fly out within the next 15 minutes.
2 Fokkers will spend the night at Amsterdam, 5 abroad.

Tomorrow; these 6 of the 7 Fokkers will make 35 flights; -KZL made her last flight for KLM today.
Planning is as follows:

PH-KZS will come in tomorrow morning from Düsseldorf and will make a roundtrip to Aberdeen and Norwich.
PH-KZM will come in tomorrow morning from Durham and will make a roundtrip to Humberside, Basel and Hannover.
PH-KZB will come in tomorrow morning from Norwich and will make a roundtrip to Durham, Billund and Düsseldorf.
PH-KZI will come in tomorrow morning from Humberside and will make a roundtrip to Cardiff, Düsseldorf and Luxembourg.
PH-KZK will depart Amsterdam tomorrow afternoon to Hannover and later on to Brussels.
PH-KZU will come in tomorrow morning from Bazel and will make a roundtrip to Stuttgart and finally London Heathrow.

As already known; that last flight from London Heathrow (KL1070) will be the last Fokker flight with a expected arrival time of 20:30.
Tomorrow evening; about 30 to 45 minutes after their last commercial flights; PH-KZM, -KZI and -KZK will already depart Schiphol forever for Norwich and Maastricht (-KZK).
The final 4 Fokker aircraft will depart Amsterdam on Sunday with a fly-by over Schiphol Airport.

KLM has posted a video on Youtube today: A fond farewell to Fokker:

The day we knew was coming in 1996. The Fokker's will be missed. First flight of KLM with the Fokker II was to London, so most fitting that the last KLM flight with a Fokker is from London as well. Almost 100 years of Fokker operations, amazing.
Many happy landings, greetings from The Netherlands!

And according to the blog post, flown by a British pilot too.
I have many happy memories of flying on this aircraft with KLM, and I am very sorry to see them go. Still, progress marches on I suppose...

Thank you Fokker. I remember one particular flight when you brought me home just two days before Christmas... :-(

It a nice suitable monument reminding many of us of the countless KLM - Fokker interactions as the two pillars of dutch aviation.

Just so that history is reported correctly, KLM did not operate Fokker aircraft continuously for 97 years !

KLM has operated Fokker aircraft at various times within its long history, ever since its foundation in October 1919 = 98 years ago!
But there have been extended periods that no Fokker built aircraft were present in the KLM fleet.

Much of the 1950s and part of the 1960s KLM's fleet consisted of Douglas, Lockheed, Vickers aircraft only, with no Fokker aircraft present in the fleet.
It was not until 1966, when KLM re-introduced domestic routes operated by 2x leased Royal NL Air Force Fokker F27 Friendship aircraft, that KLM re-commenced operations with aircraft built by Fokker Aircraft on domestic routes AMS-EIN-MST and AMS-ENS-GRQ.

When domestic and regional routes proved important to KLM, the airline obtained several more Fokker F27 Friendships and later purchased 4x F28 Fellowship aircraft from Fokker Aircraft for NLM and later purchased/leased a fleet of Fokker 50 and Fokker 100/Fokker 70 family aircraft.

So there has been a 1920-1946 period of Fokker aircraft operations and a 1966-2017 period of Fokker aircraft operations.

Sometimes we do not want nuances, you are correct, but it is a nicer thought that Fokker and KLM are synonymous for almost 100 years ( 77 years count as such, right and things are allowed to be nice ;-) )
Many happy landings, greetings from The Netherlands!
