UA SFO-NRT Now 77W

Sat Jun 17, 2017 8:03 am

..and thus ends all 747 service to Japan. As of a few days ago the last flight for a B744 went to NRT and back. All flights now out of all the hubs are on a 772 or 77W and 787.

Damn. Crazy how the Japan 747 service went out with nothing but a whimper...

LAX-NRT uses the 78Z
DEN-NRT uses the 78V

Another user posted some pics and vids of the last 747 flight at Narita:

Unfortunately we live in a sad era where the Queen Of The Skies retires...

It sure is a bitter sweet end of an era approaching. However, the 747s have been long in the tooth and hard to keep flying on a regular basis. The Queen will be missed
