Delta 767-300ER retirement this year?

Mon Jun 19, 2017 4:40 am

So far DL has 58 767-300ER in its fleet. The earliest batches (the ones with PW engines) are due to HMV at the end of this year and ex. Gulf ones almost reached 125,000hrs of flight time which will also require HMV very soon. While these one are the eldest 763ER in DL fleet, anybody happen to know when DL would start phasing out the 763ER?

I'm quite confused since some say ex. Gulf (Low-J config) ones are the first one to leave whereas some say the PW ones (N171DN~N174DN) will go first. Are they about to leave DL this year? Or after the first 330neo arrives in 2019?

Currently stored @ VCV. I expect her to hit the scrapper soon if she hasn't already unfortunately.

I thought Hauenstein mentioned during the Q1 results call that 3 of the 763ERs will be leaving the fleet after the peak summer season this year. Have plans changed?

Ships 1401, 1402 and 1404 will retire late 2017, early 2018. They are ETOPS domestic aircraft with PW engines. No ER aircraft are currently on the retirement plan.

N1501P was retired yesterday. There should be another retirement later in the month before they start really retiring them in next year.

Next one should be 1503 in March. Followed by 184 sometime after the summer schedule ends.

Are these just being replaced by 739s or are any -ERs taking their place (aside from SLC-HNL)? I presume the former to be the case, yay more frequency.

Well the 739ER and the A321 are replacing the 763s and the older 752s. The ER variant will be replaced by the A339neo and of course the A359 replaces the Queen.
