An Emirates in-flight crewmember was filmed pouring champagne back into the bottle from which it was poured.
Which A380 flight was this on. What is EK's policy with any champagne that passengers did not comsume during their flight

Pretty standard practice no? Pour them into a bottle, and either toss the bottle in the garbage, or pour it down the lav. Happens all the time.
Beats making trips two glasses at a time to pour them out.
There's no way they're pouring it back into bottles to serve to people.

Usually our FAs use water bottles. I'm suspicious of pouring back into the bottle.

Nope. EK is going to sell back that wine to DL. DL loves to buy used if the price is right.

Once on SN late evening flight, FA offered champagne to coach pax, it was a late eve flight into BRU.. I assume it was the last flight on that aircraft that day, and the bottle was open... a very elegant way of disposing of an open bottle of champagne .. Was offered with a lot of elegance, didn t feel like leftovers... while it definitely was..

That's just how they dispose of the extra. As Delta loves to point out EK isn't pinching pennies.

I figured they would just pour them back into the bottles and then toss the bottles? The video has been removed, so cannot comment much on it.

Worst part of my job is pouring the remaining contents of wine bottles down the loo at the end of the flight. It goes against all my basic urges!!!!

This video hit reddit a while back (well before this article), and even there, it was concluded that it was basically standard practice, either to make disposing of the contents a one-trip event, or needing to wait until airborne due to policy of not disposing on ground (leaves aircraft heated, which can be a risk for ground crew below aircraft).
