I saw an old Livery E140 on Friday at DFW. I think there are 2 left. I assume they will go with this batch of retirements and with it the last vestige of LAA other than the one 738.

Any idea of how many E140s remain active? I notice that they are still in the schedule for DFW in January. (I've read elsewhere that the AA schedule is 'solid' for January, though I'm not sure that anyone thinks any schedule is 'solid' in this age.) Do we know when the last one will head for the desert?

I’m showing 9 x E140 still active, with six more parked at ABI.

Is the stop in ABI for MQ maintenance to retrieve seats or other parts for future fleet maintenance? It seems an odd routing otherwise.

Was only on the ground a short while. Likely crew change and fuel.

Crew Change? I get the fuel stop but do they need two crews to fly from Maryland to Arizona?

I have to imagine this was about dropping off/picking up parts or documentation. BNA is where Embraer has their big service center, and ABI is obviously one of MQ's MX bases. I checked FR24 last night and Piedmont didn't appear to have any other aircraft in BNA (if they did, they've been there more than 30 days, and thus don't appear on FR24). I find it hard to believe an empty ERJ needs to stop for fuel between SBY and MZJ, let alone stop twice.

depends on how much time was left on the duty day of the ferry crew

I looked at this later on, after posting. Less than 10 hours block, 14 duty. Likely was a single crew, hotel locally, then limo and deadhead back.

65-seat 170s or 65-seat 175s? Which is it?

And the 6 new 175s are 76 seats?

Also, Republic just painted some AA 175s back into house colors, why the expansion now?

(6) 76-seat 175s
(16) 65-seat 170s

These 170s are coming from the DL side. The six 175s on the other hand are quoted as 76-seats and “new.”

YX is losing 22 aircraft for DL (due to scope) but gaining 22 for AA.

I know the rest of the 170s come off contract for DL in 2021. Are they coming off contract early as they can get them converted for AA?

Could you explain how YX is losing DL aircraft due to scope? Isn’t it just a contract expiration?

It is a contract expiration but Delta right now has 35 more 76 seaters than scope allows. When Compass shut down it got rid of a flow down provision for Delta pilots, in that agreement it says if that flow down is not available Delta would have to reduce 76 seaters by 35 aircraft. Getting rid of 22 170s will allow Delta to take 6 seats out of current 76 seaters and take 22/35 of the required airplanes that have to go away.

In addition to FlyguyNash’s post, it was expected that we would extend/renegotiate a new contract to replace those 22 birds with brand new 175SC’s allowing their transfer to the AA system.

Wow, so YX bought these from AAG, which were presumably destined for MQ. Could we speculate that AAG couldn’t afford them?

The 65 seaters seem like a good use out of DCA when new concourse opens and demand recovers. Any word on where they will be based?

Given MQ has continued accepting deliveries - likely this was in the works for a while - hence the skip in registrations for those delivered to MQ (293NN to 298NN). I believe YX will have 294-297 and then somewhere in the 300s will be the other two.

Doesn't seem to indicate any financial issues (and signing a contract with YX has costs involved as YX is paid flat rates regardless of actual flying until the minimum threshold has been met for the hourly rate).

They were quoted as the “workhorse” for the New York operation. Most likely replacing 145 routes.

It will be interesting to see if these 170’s replace 175’s out of LGA at least during Covid since loads aren’t full into LGA allowing the 175’s to be moved to more profitable routes elsewhere in the system.

According to a company memo I have in front of me, it appears that the last 6x E175s will NOT be delivered to MQ.

"Given the ongoing impact of the pandemic on our business, AAG has informed us that it will not take delivery of the last six Embraer 175 aircraft that were due to enter service with Envoy in 2021.

Envoy continues to work with AAG on updates to our fleet plan and we're optimistic about the future."

So I wonder if we can assume these same 6x E175s will be the ones delivered to YX instead.

Since YX has already taken delivery of 294, I think we can conclude that 295, 296, 297, 301 and 303 will be going to YX as well. Once the 7 remaining Compass birds in the desert are assimilated into the MQ fleet, MQ will have a fleet of 98 x E175 on property.

When will the YX E170’s arrive on property? Will they be getting new interiors or just new seat covers?

First one should be ready for service before the summer flying season I believe, No exact date though. My guess is introduced in May or June.

How many E145's have been retired? I think their fleet count was 60 frames.

Two, but only 614 has been ferried to MZJ, 628 remains stored at SBY, leaving them at 58.

From FlightRadar24:

19 Dec 2020 Fort Lauderdale (FLL) Louisville (SDF) AA9989 2:12 11:00 11:50 13:22
Landed 14:02
18 Dec 2020 Manaus (MAO) Fort Lauderdale (FLL) N294NN 5:51 — 20:47 —
Landed 01:38
18 Dec 2020 Sao Jose dos Campos (SJK) Manaus (MAO) N294NN 3:34 — 17:01 —
Landed 19:35

(probably YX9989 not AA9989, FR24 doesn't handle positioning flights by commuter/regionals very well)

601 has been parked at SBY since 28 April 2020, too.

So far 294 has been their only delivery:

Does anyone have information on the 20 175's that were ordered for SkyWest? I'm assuming they have been postponed, but haven't been able to find any information on them.
