What about Stillwater??
The schedule is not final but it shows 2X daily OO CRJ-700 from DFW.

They’ll run the 175s there. Empty ferry flights are a thing, but if you can fly the flight with passengers any revenue is just gravy..

I think this is strictly a short term deal for AA to use a carrier that has a decent number of pilots to accomplish some flying right now that would otherwise have aircraft parked. Mesa can't staff even 20 planes right now and by March it will only get worse so you are trading parked aircraft for actual aircraft in the sky which makes AA far more money than parked planes.
It was noted upthread that MQ will wind down the 145’s to be a 170/175 carrier sending 15 of the 145’s to PT with the rest being parked. I’m guessing these CR2’s will be backfilling that lost 50 seat capacity.

I don't think that's accurate, 70% of the fleet is a lot of space and it doesn't look like AA is anyway close to that cap. American has also had way more 50-seaters
FlyingElvii wrote:capwatts86 wrote:alasizon wrote:None of those will be coming back to MQ, the 15 frames will be moved to PT and that will be the end of the 145 at MQ.
They haven't released which 15 frames will go to Piedmont. It was published that E-145's were parked due to upcoming mtx checks regardless of aircraft age. 677 687 680 688 are rather new compared to 605 606 607.
Jetsuite just registered a BUNCH of 145's to itself.
I can imagine this includes many of the recently parked birds.

Either A5 S7 YX or SV I believe but from what I can tell I'm guessing it's A5 unless I'm reading this wrong.

Carbondale, Illinois (MDH Airport) in agreement with SIU (Southern Illinois University) will be doing Maintenance Work on the American Eagle CRJ900's operated by Mesa.
Mesa has flown 3 CRJ900's into MDH now.

I'd go with YX. They can't staff things, and aren't likely to anytime in the future. If BB can lease them to Envoy, why not make some money off them?

Can’t find mechanics to work for what they want to pay, so using a school to do it…
What’s next? Purdue?
Besides being home to SIU flight, aviation management and automotive technology programs, the airport is home to numerous businesses
He acknowledged tenants, including the National Guard, Aviation Insurance, SIH disaster response team, Code 1 Aviation, Crucial MRO, Air Methods, Enhanced Aero, Yates Awning, GRNE Solar, ISEO marijuana cultivators, and St. Nicholas Brewing Co.

It doesn't state that students will be working on Mesa airplanes.

Oh No Kidding?! MDH seems so random of all the cities.
Unless they are using that company that deals with Maintenance?
Any idea why MDH?
3 more are flying in tomorrow...
N916FJ is showing on Flightradar24, can't see the other 2 Registrations.

Hrm if those pilots go onto the E145 and since they’re current on the E140, is there an abbreviated training just to get them upto Piedmont or Envoy standards?

If they are coming from Expressjet they'll have flown the 145. In all its guises Expressjet never had 140s.

Wish I could say that was even surprising for them, Mesa is pretty much guaranteed one return to field a day somewhere in the CRJ operation.
A lot of them are for bleed duct cautions, those 900s are beat. There was one in PHX earlier this year that returned to field everytime it flew for about a month straight.

I do completely agree with them being beat. I was hoping that they might have taken some of the 2020 downtime to catch up on maintenance and maybe refresh the cabins, but I think the CRJ9's are currently in worse shape than ever. I flew on one back in December where a window shade in first class would not open. I have no idea if it had been fixed shut or if it was just stuck, but it really nailed the ambiance of an aircraft whose operator did not care.
