This means 15 seats less in Business but 17 seats more in Economy/Premium Economy for a final balance of +2 seats.
Not bad as a 1:1 replacement, with a more realistic number of saleable Business seats. And on a much more efficient plane! Looks like a good decision for their finances.

This is the highest density of the A359 so far revealed. What is the seat pitch in economy class please ?

This layout is perfect for the high volume Latin America flights.

Nope, Air Caraïbes features 389 seats and FrenchBlue will have 411 seats.

Perhaps the highest density so far for a 'main' carrier. French Blue has 411 seats in their A359 and Air Caraibes has 389.

Oopps. Karel just beat me to it.

The A359 cant be a A346 replacement.....IB needs another type of plane.....A350-1000 or B777-9X

LATAM also has 348 seats on their A359s.

Because IB needs more seats at EZE,MEX,BOG,etc......with 3 daily flights ........a A35K in IB configuration is near 390 seats.

Must be that IB is going 9 abreast in Y and not 10 like Air Caraibes (3-4-3). French Blue has a 3-3-3 layout in Y but only two classes of service hence the higher total count.

It is the highest density of any 9 abreast configuration. Assuming those 31C are in front of door 2, there are a lot of seats cramped in between door 2 and 4. The 24 PE are real premium economy of probably 3 rows of 8 taking up space of 4 rows of 9 economy. If you add these theoretical 36 to 293Y you get 329. More than Finnair's new configuration (304), LATAM (309) or Ethiopian (318) or anyone else fit in that space at 9 abreast.
I really wonder how they do it. 29"-30" pitch? Is the new aft lav/galley thing available for the A359 in 2018? Even then...very tight.

LATAM A350 is also 348 in total (30J/18Y+/300Y) but while they lack a real Premium Economy up to row 21 there's extra legroom. IB A330-200 config fits 269 in Y with 8-abreast so I think with same legroom they should be able to fit 300 with 9-abreast plus the 3 rows of Premium Economy.

I'm sorry but I'm only seeing 2 daily flights to EZE and MEX, and only one to BOG. I don't think they need that much capacity.

Does any one know what will be the first route for this aircraft? If they ony get one at the beginning, it should be somewhere with a total rotation time of less than 24 hours, e.g. New York? Caracas (cough)?

The sheer number of Y in the A330-200 explains a lot, thanks. I looked at up on seatguru. Haven't checked but it must be a record on his own aft of door 2 and 8-abreast.
There isn't any economy seat really comfortable after 5-6 hours at any airline, but Iberia is to be avoided here.

Your LATAM configuration is the correct one, I was wrong there. But according to seatguru the 18Y+ are just bulkhead seats with more pitch at knee level.

That is a lot of seats. I also wonder how they plan to do it.

For comparison:
CX - 38J / 28W / 214Y
IB - 31J / 24W / 293Y (!) The number of Y seats alone is more than CX (or most carriers) entire seat counts!

Wow, that is a lot of Y seats. I wonder what this will mean for Y legroom...
I was expecting a more standard config, with the A35K being the actual A346 replacement.

This means 15 seats less in Business but 17 seats more in Economy/Premium Economy for a final balance of +2 seats.
Not bad as a 1:1 replacement, with a more realistic number of saleable Business seats.

As expected, it looks like Premium Y is cannibalizing J. I still believe that a Y+ would have been more appropriate for IB than PY.

I agree. IB will need the A35K for a) premium-heavy routes b) the "core" LatAm routes at a minimum EZE, MEX

I wonder if the IB A350s will be getting the same (dense) J seats as BA's A350s.

IAG may get the 777-9 for BA, but the A350-1000 seems almost like a given for IB.

Much like AC and KL on their 777's, sounds like a very efficient, high CASM layout. Most Y pax really don't care how tight it is, so may as well make it as tight as is possible. My question is, do they really need another aircraft above this? For a couple of routes, I don't see too much value, especially if messing with configurations. MAD isn't exactly a high premium hub, so having a layout that isn't commencerate with the majority of routes just makes for operational headaches if aircraft need to be swapped. Frequency is an option if 1 flight on this smaller aircraft isn't enough. Also, given average LF's are not always full, lowering the seat count slightly will improve LF's and can potentially boost yields as the supply more closely matches demand.

French Blue is also 3-4-3 (quite logic they are as dense as Air Caraïbes since they are supposed to be their low cost arm)

Thanks for the correction, I was looking at the A330 layout.

I don't know what the pitch is, but I think people put too much into what is just the pitch number rather than legroom.

Seat thickness and overall form of the seat can make for more reasonable legroom with reduced pitch.

Regarding the high number of seats, not only IB (and LATAM as many claimed) will be configured like that. ET also has 348 seats om their A350...

And Evelop in its A359 (to be leased from Air Lease Corporation) will be Y432. (Their A330-300s are Y388.)
