Guessing more 737-MAX jets will be on property by the time the new schedule goes into effect, and so the frequencies can become daily. Also a sign the routes going daily have met or exceeded expectations.

70-80's %LF depending on whether you use the planned capacity originally offered or the more favourable blocked capacity.

The airports probably have some of the data already.

Blimey, the Chicago route is being increased pretty quickly. It's not been on sale all that long has it?( cant remember exactly when it was first announced)

Norwegian is trying something new by using lower cost, less delayed airports. The narrowbody to Europe concept isn't really new. Continental pretty much proved it can be profitable. I

I don't see Norwegian going under unless they suffer change in management who bombs, or are really doing something shady that isn't on their books. They are trying to claim turf quickly.

The Long Haul ULCC revolution has happened, and it ain't turning back no matter how much people on a.net want it fail

Curious why BDL was left out, it looks like BDL has the strongest loads so far.

Edit- looks like BDL picks up one additional weekly flight in March going from 2-3.

I reckon there's more to come! Can see BDL increasing given its loads so far. PVD is the weakest route from EDI thus far and it's the one that's getting an increase which is strange.

BDL-EDI is 3 weekly this summer anyway so it's just going back it's summer schedule.

Great to see the frequencies added. The Atlantic market is evolving quickly.

I know it must be difficult that so far Brexit isn't the disaster to aviation that we were promised, but I feel that it is an important topic. We were told that traffic would collapse. This concerned a great many people. It has not happened as promised.

Brexit. Hasn't. Happened. If you want to discuss this important topic, do it on the non-aviation forum, or maybe a thread. This thread is about Norwegian.

If it was going to be a formidable event, airlines would not be investing and expanding. Period. This is very relevant as Norwegian among others are investing.

They really need to open a Dublin base for the 737 flying transatlantic with FR feed , it's a no brainer with Dublin catchment , taxes and tourism numbers

Otherwise Wow will open a Dublin base and beat them

PVD had an artificially lower seat capacity because of the 737Max not yet in service plus the runway construction, so perhaps the numbers are skewed in some way?

They've all had a seat cap because of the 738 being used however I'm not sure if the runway situation affected it or not.

I'll keep my eyes open for the August stats when they come out.

Norwegian already have a 737 Dublin Base up an running for their Atlantic ops. At the moment it's operating on a temporary basis (ie. temporary crew, etc.), but it becomes permanent on 01Nov. Don't know about the FR feed though.

Why, everytime a cut is announced by a legacy to Britain, is it okay to reference the fallout from Brexit without such blowback?

Just curious.

I would be very surprised if Wow considered opening a 'base' in Dublin. Their operational plan has been to steadily develop their Keflavik hub as a connecting point between their European and North American destinations and opening a base in Dublin would simply be counterproductive to continued development of their Icelandic hub. Furthermore, Keflavik, being much closer to a North America allows their aircraft a much deeper reach into the United States and Canada than they would have from Dublin.

WOW Air CEO Skúli Mogensen has repeatedly stated in interviews (including one today) that WOW is seriously looking into a second base in Europe because the situation in KEF is restraining the growth there. I don't know if DUB would be a smart choice though, seems like it would cannibalize the existing KEF hub.

I expect WOW wants to keep growing in Iceland as the facilities allow so I don't see the sense in opening up a base for one-stop routings in direct competition with the existing KEF hub.

Yes that's right Wow are proactively looking for a second hub and Dublin is on the shortlist with two other unnamed European cities

They would be absolute idiots to choose anywhere other than Dublin

Great news and it seems that Aer Lingus is to respond with their own TATL Save Fare which will mean passengers will pay for checked bags, headsets and blankets. Aer Lingus are launching this to compete with Norwegian. Interesting times ahead.

How could there be fallout to something that is not happening any time soon? And every time the issue is brought up the government admits there are so many issues and you can hear them wishing the vote never happened in the first place.

Happened to be playing with the calendar feature on Nowegian's website and noticed that PVD-DUB shows daily starting on June 1st, 2018. This additional twice weekly service is on top of the already reported EDI increase from four to six flights per week.

Difficult since Norwegian and Ryanair both use different terminals at Dublin, however I guess they can easily move.

Would be good for Dublin if it happens but I remain surprised that they are thinking of a second TATL base in addition to Keflavik at this stage! Their present fleet of A320/321CEOs wouldn't make it much further into North America than St Johns or Halifax from Dublin but I think they have a couple of A321NEOs on order which would be more suitable. Of course they could also use their A330s but that would be a big expansion into a market which is already becoming fairly saturated and would require a pretty substantial feed of inbound transit passengers from UK/Europe to make it viable. Might just be achievable however if they could reach some sort of interline agreement with Ryanair. Interesting times!
