2259loc actually.
Although they could apply for one of the limited availability night slots. I'm just not sure that would be worth the hassle.

Well not if the slot was confirmed at least one day prior. :)

That could have been "designed" by any beginning graphic design student for a tip of a few bucks. :embarrassed2:

It's just :shakehead: :hissyfit: :cry2: and I have to make shure to get some more decent photos of Lufties widebodies in the "old" sceme.

Looking forward to my trip to MAD and hope to snap at least one example of this really good livery:

This is your pilot speaking. Welcome to flight one from here to there. We'll be flying at a height of ten feet, going up to twelve and a half feet if we see anything big. My copilot today is a flask of coffee.

If this latest rendering is in fact IT, all I can say is that when LH starts serving SAN in 2 months (with the 343), I will enjoy seeing the current livery before it disappears! Hopefully the Company will be in no hurry to repaint their existing fleet...

Quite a disappointment if this proves to be the new look management has selected!

At first I was insulted by this post, then I thought about the proliferation of bland, and boring Euro White liveries.................You may be right.

I'm hoping for one of the earlier images that showed the entire back of the plane painted blue
ala QANTAS. A new blue tail on Euro white fuselage smacks of China Eastern or JAL......yawn

My major hope is that LH keeps the retro livery on Yankee Tango. Seeing the last of the 747 variants wearing the same scheme as the very first Jumbos in 1970 makes this retro livery stand out from all others as something special to those of us who have lived through the history of this iconic aircraft we love.

The one thing the current LH livery has like no other is recognizability. The plane can be far away, still you can see the yellow blue Tail and you immediatley know its LH. There is no livery out there that can do this as good as LHs. Does anyone have a better idea than writing an email :D to let them know that it is no good? I mean the new one isnt that bad for itself, but in comparison to the current its just sad.

This looks like more of a photoshop than a leak. For one thing, you can see traces of blue around the edges of the vertical stabilizer, and the drawing is also missing the silver paint which is present on the leading edge of the vertical stabilizer in the photo of the A350 at Toulouse. It looks like it has been taking out of the Lufthansa Magazin and adjusted.

Thanks :)
The disclaimer of course is that I could be wrong. But when you look at the quality of the renderings available on the Lufthansa Magazin website of the A350 (http://magazin.lufthansa.com/xx/en/fleet/a350-en/), the rendering above just doesn't fit that quality, which makes me doubt it came from the company.

For some reasons I have the feeling that LH will go the “daughters way”, paint the fuselage all-white and Lufthansa in bold letters from head to toe = like SWISS ;)

It's not likely they'll do anything drastic - I like today's modern liveries to a certain extent - but I like to be able to tell you the airline from a distance. That's getting harder these days with the white body/blue tail schemes...

Very subjective, but as a graphic designer this is quite a disappointment. The Indigo blue is nice but what boring skies with all this Euro white. I miss the 80s where seeing something like a Viasa DC-10’s orange tail was amazing. I know its about progress but let’s try harder. It’s as if all these airlines hired the same designer.

Cathay Pacific
Latam
Iberia (puke)
Delta
Swiss
Qantas
JAL
The new Air Canada (huge step back)
Finnair
Etc
Etc
Etc

LH had THE classiest livery imo.
TG has the sexiest.
KLM the most iconic.
Air France the most patriotically cool
Hawaiian the most representative (with Fiji)
AA at least tried something new and different.
Brunei the one that works with all the white

Bravo to Royal Air Jordanian for standing out.

If this new LH had a tone, similar to what Alitalia did, I wouldn’t mind it as much. That pearl was quite nice although an obvious nod to Etihad.

A livery is everything about an airline. Its like the flag of a country or the logo of a company hell, its as if Apple suddenly made their Apple green.

Hey at least its not Air China I guess.

If they don’t extend the livery from tail to fuselage then we have another Swiss type of pattern.
I really hope not. I love Swiss and fly them almost exclusively on transatlantic flights but those planes look like somebody tried to save a buck on paint. Add some dirt and yuck!!

It will be a lot more than a livery refresh.. the focus of the LH Group is the refresh of the Lufthansa brand, logo, uniforms etc. The images above of a 'leaked' livery have not been published by LH on any internal communication platform ;)

True! S7 is amazing.

And also true, China Eastern is also in the list of the worst.
Air China in my opinion is horrid. What a banal representation of a country, and one with such color and history.

Anyone remember how awesome thosr Japan Air System (JAS) DC-9’s were?

Not saying LH needed that, but dont do what everyone else is doing, ESPECIALLY if it resembles Iberia, quite possibly the worst rebranding of all time.

Stretch the crane across the forward fuselage, in silver.... Like the tulip on Turkish Airlines' rear fuselage....
Or
Paint the fuselage silver, matching the crane on the tail of the 'leaked' image, and then paint an enlarged crane on the forward fuselage in white with titles in blue....

Any talented graphic designers here wanna try this out, based on the colours of the "leaked" image? Would love to see it.

I found the link to this full coverage of the known photo on another German flyer enthusiasts board.
So we gotta deal with white winglets and the questioannably "new" LH icon on them. I guess the bright blue and yellow stripe on the left winglet's tip belongs to remaining plastics though.

Nice work! Love this one! Hopefully LH decides to do something like this at the front of the aircraft. The belly lettering is also a nice touch.

Hey lostsound,
Great effort mate, but can I suggest that the crane is bigger and higher up on the fuselage, with the titles further back? The head of the crane would be next to the top of the door...

I wouldn't say that everyone says they are experts, it's nice to hear people's opinions. And to be frank... many of the versions presented by a.net members are infinitely better than the bland liveries that we see all too often these days. Case in point, by fellow member lostsound - very cool take on the topic!

Design is all subjective as it is, one likes something, the other doesn't. It's just important to get the majority on the same bandwagon.

That is a really great concept - Eurowhite done very well indeed. The black/white and silver colors make your concept stand out, but also appear business-like and refined. Good work!

In some cases they do, in others not so much. Thing is, mindlessly bitching about "Eurowhite" when the entire global design community has been trending toward minimalism for at least a decade doesn't really serve a purpose. Perhaps critics should read a book or reach out to a design professional on Twitter and try to understand the logic, rather than whining about how they want more color (or a return of cheatlines :rotfl: ).

What exactly is a design professional? Someone who follows latest trends based on subjective views? Everyone has their tastes, and people will always disagree. But it's nice to see something out of the usual, to spice things up a bit. And since we are on an aviation forum, people are definitely opinionated and protective over any changes as a result. I'm afraid that "logic" in this case might get confused with cost-saving on a business revenue level, rather than anything to actually do professional design. These buros are paid a ton of money to come up with concepts that are a far cry from originality.

I'd like to understand the logic behind the latest Iberia livery. Even "design professionals" are fallible.

It’s the colours of the Spanish flag evoking warm sunshine. It looks rather decent on the line up at T4S imho, the old livery, as much as I like it, looks very dated now.

I have been reading through this thread for the last few weeks, and as speculation grows I have found my self more and more displeased with the rumors. Especially the idea that LH could be dropping yellow from it's brand. However when I saw this rendering this was the first rendering that I with with out a doubt LOVE, and liked from the start. Great Job!

They might keep it simple - silverish/grey fueselage, a nice LH blue tail and billboard brand name and winglets, silverish/grey crane inside the blue tail, ditch the yellow.

Think NW but with blue tail instead of red or SkyTeam

Maybe that starts a new trend, eurosilver!

Yeah they could call it Euroluminium or something witty. I like the concept presented above a lot, the rumoured livery though sounds like garbage. If all the large European legacy carriers are heading for a white based minimal look then I'm guessing BA will probably adopt a modified version of the Open Skies livery as it's next effort.

Hey, great idea!
I'll take a car too - navy blue and silver are my favourite car colours thanks - for my original idea, lol!
Lostsound did an awesome job, agreed! I really hope that the new LH livery looks as good as Lostsound's image!
Cheers,

What is with everyone complaining about Euro white? I find those cheat lines incredibly dated, especially with the aircraft we have today, as they become sleeker and sleeker. Cheatlines looked good on aircraft of the past, minimalist and abstract designs look great on the elegant aircraft of today. I’d love to see lostsound’s livery come true, but perhaps better placement of the crane on the forward fuselage could improve the look. I like that tail, even on the a350 leaked pic we see. I personally hope the blue makes its way onto the fuselage, with a thin stripe of silver curving with it ala Qantas 787.

Sorry, but what does Blue have to do with Germany? One of the many things I love about Lufthansa is how their brand distinctly gives off a German feel, and the yellow (Although not quite a German color prior to the 20th century) aided in that.
