The MAX doesn't look half as bad as i expected in the new colors. The new colors are warming to me. My only big complaint is that it does look seriously like Delta until you are fairly close up. The MAX wears them as well as the A321 for sure IMHO.

It might be Boeing policy that they won't paint the metal surround for the 737, or the default is unpainted and AC neglected to inform them to paint the metal surround black with the raccoon mask (Boeing is just going to paint exactly what AC tells them to do, if default is unpainted and they don't hear otherwise Boeing is not going to guess that AC wanted it black to match the mask).

The metal surrounds of the side windows of the A350 cockpit are actually unpainted against that plane's black mask too. Haven't looked closely enough at the A330neo to see what it is like.

To me the MAX looks like a chavy boy racer car with just about every mod done to it that one could think of.

Take a 60s design, slap on some bigger engines (in my opinion too big for the short stubby landing gear), add sharklets, add scimitars, add raccoon eyes. It’s just missing a few go faster stripes now to perfect the look.

There is a divider right where the maintenance guy is. You can actually see the screens mounted on the wall for the economy bulkhead seats.

Remember that the current Airbus narrowbodies don't have dividers. They only have curtains dividing the J and Y cabins.

Yup, I’m familiar with both as well. The current blue seats are definitely more comfortable. Too bad the trend is heading towards slimline seats and stuffing them into airplanes as much as they can. Anyone know the seat model that WJA is using? Same or comparable?

WestJet Maxes use the same seats as the UA A320s (Slim types).

I like this livery.. mostly because I hated the toothpaste livery. It looked TERRIBLE on everything.

That said, I still think AC should've taken the Rouge livery for mainline. Imagine how THAT would look on a 737MAX!

If Air Canada insists on having this mostly-white livery, it would help--not just on the 737, but on all types--if they painted up the bottom black a few more feet. More color helps, even if it's Henry Ford black.

The new livery is good, simple, professional. The black makes sense. If any of you have flown to the high north, you will see frozen bodies of water that are essentially black in colour. The toothpaste livery was unique, and looked good as well. However, it was dated and time for a refresh. The beauty is the new livery can easily be modified in the future, unlike the toothpaste livery.

Everyone here is complaining about AC’s choice of the 737. Yes, it is a 50 year-old design, but it is a proven design. Air Canada has operated Airbus’ for a long time and have determined the 737 to be the best choice for their operation going forward. I don’t hear anyone complaining about Westjet ordering the Max.

Guys, let’s move on.

Absolutely! That cabin looks dark, uninviting and not at all warm. I love dark greens (fabric, please - striped.) for cabin seats. Oh, and a splash of red here and there!
