Have an upcoming flight with AA from LAX and just received an email from them regarding catering onboard. Apparently there wont be any catering at all on the flight, and has been so since yesterday, November 1 on flights departing LAX. Seems to be some problem with Gate Gourmet at LAX where listeria was detected

At least AA will offer a travel voucher due to the inconvenience.

These things happen. Occurred at Flying Foods at LAX not too long ago also.

Also currently similar issue at DEN with United's food vendor with estimated closure 10-15 days,

Not to hijack the thread, but it's funny that last week the United Airlines Denver catering kitchen was *also* closed by county sanitation authorities. Agents *refused* to make an announcement at the gate (so said the purser of UA877) so food could be purchased by flyers.

My DEN-YYC flight last Friday night had snack boxes and protein bars instead of dinner. My YYC-ORD flight last Monday (the plane was catered in Denver) had the same with the addition of a bag of potato chips. Plenty of adult beverages, but most of the people in the front - where I was - drank moderately.

Everyone seemed to take it in good spirits since both planes were on time and there seemed to be plenty of airport eateries open.at destination points.
