As garish as the current product looks in pictures, I found it extremely nice and not so overwhelming on the one occasion I had to fly it. Can't wait to see and hopefully try this new suite. :champagne:

In laymen language, these are gadgets that allow to command a premium & retain F customers over EY or QR.
Kia & Rolls Royce have comfort & gizmo differences, but both will get you to the same place & in the same time for a huge difference in fare.

That's pretty sweet though. Your own temperature setting as well as light.

SQ doesn't seem to come close! They basically imitated EY.

Agreed, I like what little EK have been teasing us with.

I would even contend SQ does not even match EY ( save for consistent closeness to the window ) :
1. though the suites are larger & the swivel chairs may be a plus - specially to armchair CEOs,
they look to me as cold & impersonal as a gynecologist room ( someone here mentionned a dentist cabinet ).
2. the folding bed probably means there is a slim mattress, not as thick as in the Appartment & no real mattress like in the Residence.
3. I way prefer the warm colours, dim lights & elegant arab designs EY have in all their Appartments ( however odd their long configuration ).

Imho, SQ failed in challenging - let alone rivalling, both EY's Residence & F product.
A shower could have put them closer to EY-EK excellence from a premium customers POV.
I rank them 4rd or 3rd depending on how EK impress me next week ( as I even prefer the QSuites to SQ's new F )

The pictures released so far show the A380's bar, proving the effort is first on EK's flagships & that will keep them busy for a long while.
Thus if the earlier frames are returned, I don't see why these would be retrofitted.

As indication, SQ own theirs & will retrofit 14 A380s (+ the 5 new) until 2020, at the likely tune of 2 frames out-of-service at any one time.

Since Emirates works with a 12 year lease business model, they never retrofit their old planes. Instead new deliveries just incorporate the upgrades.

I wouldn't say never, as EK did retrofit their whole first batch of 77W's to suites in F and lie-flat J, from SkyCruiser seats in F and recliners in J.

Totally depends on whether owns or leases the aircraft. Emirates may refit older aircraft which are leased but it depends on how longs left on the lease.

The power outlets are now located at the bottom of the seat back. Each seat still has its own.

The new F class product will be put on new 77W aircraft, and later on new A380 deliveries as well. No retrofit for existing aircraft was mentioned.

Given the 12 years lease period I would be surprised if current aircraft gets retrofitted.

2-3-2 isn't the end of the world, especially with that design, but it isn't something you launch in 2017 when you're a world-class carrier. F looks AMAZING tho.
