Pope to Myanmar: What Plane/Time?

Mon Nov 27, 2017 2:20 am

The Pope is on his way to Myanmar. Would he be using an Alitalia plane to/from? Usually he returns on a plane of the visiting country but I am not sure that applies to this country. What time did he leave Rome and arriva in Myanmar?

He is currently on EI-EJK, an A332 of Alitalia. AZ4000 is the flight number. It's on FR24.

Biman has decent 777-300ER planes so unless there is some special reason that is probably what he is returning on.

jfk777, Biman is BANGLADESH's airline, not Myanmar's.

The Pope will be visiting Bangladesh after Myanmar before returning to Rome. Biman is as good of a guess as any for who he will be flying back on.

There is no Myanmar long haul airline whatsoever. What does he do in those cases?

Pope's visit is Vatican > Myanmar > Bangladesh > Vatican

So technically he can fly perfectly on a Myanmar Airways A320 or Myanmar National Airlines 737 from Myanmar to Bangladesh, and then a Biman 777 back to Rome

Previous Popes have used Alitalia to and from countries when long distance aircraft on the country's home airline were not available.
if assumptions could fly, airliners.net would be the world's busiest airport
