I am flying in to Seattle right now - any idea which gate either of these might be parked at?

The S Terminal and Delta hanger are my two bets

Asked delta on twitter and got quickly dismissed... agreed on S gates - will head over there upon landing. Had a ride on the last HNL-LAX on upper deck, but will always take opportunity to snap another pic.

If true, that's incredibly arrogant. What did they say? I don't know why they have to be such a jerk about it, they told the entire world they're heading to Seattle but then don't want anyone to know about it!

They said “thank you for reaching out, unfortunately that information is not available.” - FA on my current flight is guessing S1. I will find out in-person in about 45 mins.

I think the 744 is doing a SEA-DFW charter on the 22nd, leaving SEA 3:45PM, arriving DFW at 9:30PM.

I’m gonna be in New York already. That sucks.

Anybody know which runway or which side of the airport will the 747 land in Atlanta. Going to try to sneak out on a extended lunch break. Haha

It’s nice to see Atlanta able to celebrate its long rich 747 history with Delta.

You're in luck because a 744 is doing an LAX-EWR charter the same day, departing LAX 2:15PM, arriving EWR at 10:15PM. I don't know how long it's going to be in EWR, but if it's still there in the morning, you might be able to get a good look at it.

I wouldn't really call it a rich long history. They got rid of it after a few years. If anyone has a rich and long history with the 747, it was Northwest Airlines, DTW, & MSP. Not Delta and ATL.

You are right, maybe even impossible to cancel. The Falcons got out of Atlanta during the power outage somehow and there was a story from years back when an NFL team charter went tech, they turned around another scheduled aircraft that had just departed, off loaded the pax and sent that jet to pick up the charter! :D

Very sad to see a picture in flickr.com of the DTW ceremony. In front of the Queen stands a picture of a DL 741 in old colors. Not a picture of her in the former two Northwest colors. Just extremely sad. I understand you have a business to run, but this is an icon of American. She deserves a fond farewell. A farewell most aviation enthusiasts would enjoy. Not auctions of millions of miles for the opportunity. I don't recall seeing anything posted by Delta as a schedule for us photographers to see her one last time.

Just utter disappointment. Like Delta cares anyway. Can't even get someone on their Twitter account to help.

I have good news, the 747 will come to ATL tomorrow at about 1:19PM. I might not be at the airport but I can defiantly spot it at my house. Here's a link so that anyone can track it.

it’s been pretty amazing from where I stand, but I have a slightly different view.

I waited a good hour in the freezing cold watching her leave. So yes. Yes, technically I have been there. It was a lot of fun, but the short notice, lack of publicity, and to a lesser degree the fact that something sold as the “last commercial 747 flight in the us” wasn’t actually it all add up.
