It's even more interesting when you consider how the production life of the NG compares with the other models. The 737-100/-200 had its first delivery in February 1968 and its last in August 1988, spanning 20.5 years. The Classic (-300/-400/-500) had its first delivery in November 1984, and its last in February 2000, spanning 15.25 years. The NG is likely to have a few more years left in it yet, meaning it will be the definitive 737 family both in numbers delivered and longevity of production. It will be interesting to see if the MAX is able to eclipse it (which would require well over 7000 frames and deliveries through to about 2040!)
