The Azman Air A340-600 will replace the leased A330-200 they have that is from Egypt Air

Thanks for the information. If I recall correctly, the A332 was ex-Emirates, now heading to Onur Air.

Those Emirates A332 really comes in handy now. Airlines are clamouring over them. Are there anyone else offloading their A330 fleet in bucket load amount? SQ is doing it as more 787-10 gets delivered. Two were delivered in space of 2 days last week.

Im quite sure that the picture is of it having a rejected take off at Istanbul.The Iranian government has its own A340, EP-DAA, MSN257. The government have no need for the aircraft. Will be a shame to see it retired.

I think you're mistaking it for EP-AJA which is now EP-DAA and operated for the Islamic Republic.

I suspect further scrapping will be put on hold pending the final Airbus/Iran decision.

Somehow I have a feeling they may end up in Iran after exchanging two or three shady owners. TG most likely interested in offloading all together, to avoid further headache. They could have negotiate with Airbus to take them back for A350 deal, but not sure why they didn't do it. Even if B744 are retired, A340 won't see return to service as the airline is moving to twin engines with exception of A380, no ULR route too.

It is performing flights between MXP and HAV with an astonishing punctuality, averaging 2 hours of delay. Charters, I suppose.

It appears HiFly has flown her since 2005, so perhaps they are familiar with the frame. With the wide body need due to RR issues, perhaps this old Pratt powered bird has another summer season in her yet.

Truly sad that the Brunei Government A340-212 is retired from the Sultan's fleet. I used to see her flying over my house frequently back during my days in Brunei. She was one of the three A340 which used to operated by Brunei Royal Family. A fourth A340-200, the world's one and only A340-8000 (MSN 204) was developed specially for them but never took delivery.

Trivia: MSN 009, 046 and 151 were ordered by Prince Jefri Bolkiah, the disgraced younger brother of current Sultan. His extravagant lifestyle almost bankrupt the country. Not only he bought a fleet of A340, few G-V were also purchased. As part of asset recovery, MSN 009 and 151 and sole B747SP were confiscated and sold off to pay off creditors.

The A342 was a ULR before ULR designation was ever invented
Hopefully she will fly again. I see her well as Canada's AF1!

Update 9th July 2018:
The sixth A330-243 of Fiji Airways is now confirmed. ex-Air Seychelles S7-ADM/ Jet Airways VT-JWE/Etihad A6-EYZ, delivered 26. Jun 2018. Christened as "The Island of Vatulele" Registration DQ-FJP. Configuration is 18J/ 233Y. This is second ex-EY A332 inducted in FJ's fleet, first being DQ-FJO.

Not sure how will they manage the expectation of their J passengers, because the J cabin of -FJO and FJP are vastly differently to those on -FJT, -FJU and -FJV

I don't think it's too different given 1) they're both in 2-2-2 layout and 2) the seats can apparently fully recline when their current seats can't (175 degrees or something close). IFE maybe, but the seat itself isn't so bad.
