That is a bit different. All or almost all of the previous repainted plane have routed through SFO.

I thought the same thing, and nothing went into VCV to be painted, they usually swap them out. If 640 comes out Monday, with no swap out, it may be an effort to get all planes in revenue status for Thanksgiving week.

N422QX, a Q400, was sent to VCV today so it appears that was the swap, and they've resumed Q400 repaints.

Saw that, true, that may have been the swap. It could also be a retirement since QX is starting to take delivery of more E175s, and they’ve said they want to stay at around 60 aircraft.

Don't think N422QX is a retirement if Qx keeps everything from 421 up it will put them at 29 Qs, would have been 30 before the 449 incident. The next big repaint will probably be the retirement/repaint of the college color schemes. I also think the next big VX repaint will be when 628 gets repaint after it leaves GSO

If I recall correctly, the retiring Q400s are being sent to TUS, mostly on lease returns

Seems as though AS is steadily turning LAX into a center of gravity for the Airbus fleet. I've been flying to LAX a lot lately and am seeing fewer and fewer Boeing flights. Makes sense given how much AS service out of LAX is concentrated on West Coast routes.

Thanks for the link...that's great information.

A bit off topic but looking at the E-175s, they only have seat power in F. Is that a limitation of the plane? With those being used for longer flights, because they're an opportunity to fly routes that otherwise might not support a bigger plane, seems that it's a disadvantage. I realize that the -700s don't have power but that's a different story.

-700's with the new interior have the future fleet-wide Recaro seats in FC and Y with seat power, tablet holders in both cabins and foot rests in F. Not sure how many are left to be completed but all -700's will be converted first and then the Airbus and then the -800's and -900's.

A decision hasn’t been made yet on the E175 interiors yet regarding seats and lighting.

On a side note, 643QX will be the 1500th E-Jet for Embraer, and the aircraft has decals commemorating it. Should be delivered in the next week or so

Back to the topic at hand, they’ve really been going full steam ahead with Airbus painting now that enough aircraft are free in the winter

I’d think one complicating factor with the Ejets is that QX flies some and OO flies some. Who foots the bill on interior mods to OO planes?

If AS wants the change then AS will pay for it. That being said, it will require OO to documentation on the change which will cost AS also but then OO could use it on any of their E175's so there is that to think of.

N621VA is in GSO for a C-check only.

N628VA will be the first and only Airbus with the interior mod done this year.

The E fleet decision was clearly a bottom line decision. No power in coach. Y seats that don't have head rests (vs DL, UA, AA).

AFAIK UA 175 aircraft don’t have headrests. Regardless I think headrests and power are two big items missing from these otherwise outstanding aircraft. I’m not a fan of the DL seat though. There are always tradeoffs.

I primarily fly one route, SEA-PHX so my equipment is 95% 739. Not a bad thing, I love the 739. But I do wish I had the opportunity to fly on a newly configured 73G/A32X. Has anyone flown on one yet? I’ve tried to dig for photos and reviews but everything I’ve found is dated from when the upgrades were announced.

It’s a little strange seeing AS airbusses all over the place. They’re multiplying fast (not a bad thing, they look great). Concourse D at SEA was full of them the other day. I haven’t seen A32X equipment at N or C. Is that just me being at SEA at the wrong time or are they only parking A32X aircraft at D for operational efficiency?

The airbus fleet can be parked at the C & D gates, they have not been fit tested in any of the N gates and cannot be parked there for now

Are you sure that's true for all of them? I've been in two Airbuses in the last 60 days, both night flights from LAX (1x 319, 1x 320), that arrived at an N gate. Both aircraft were wingtip fence equipped in case that makes any difference.

Speaking of wingtip fences, is AS planning sharklet conversions for the aircraft that weren’t modified by VX?
