MSN682 G-ZBKR BA #26 currently showing as Ready for Delivery in the Production List.

It’s at Everett Stall 105 and delivery scheduled for 29-03-2018.

This information isn’t always completely accurate but will give a good idea.

It isn't getting painted at PDX. Currently parked at the FBO and a large tour bus of passengers got off. arrived using Callsign N887BA with Customer Pilots flying it. Scheduled to fly away tomorrow.

Your comment about a large tour bus of passengers coming off of N887BA. Is very laughable and completely and utter false. I think you need to check your sources before you post fake news.....

I only posted what was relayed to me from local spotters in PDX.

Work has been dominating my life but I was able to get this shot a few days ago during sunset. This is a pretty detailed look at 9V-SCA. I don't think it's exposed right for the database so I'll post it here for you guys to enjoy.

Delivery will happen at night unfortunately. Pretty disappointed about that.

I was in Charleston today (3/22/18) and pretty sure I saw a 78X flying low over the North Charleston area. It looked like an SQ bird. Can anyone confirm this. Sorry, I wasn't at the airport plane spotting, I was about 3 miles away.

Edit: The plane I saw was in the air at approximately 1430 local time. It was clearly a 787, but I am not positive it was an SQ bird.

Thanks

The SQ 9V-SCA did a flight about then. I would guess it’s that.

Thanks. Even from 3 miles away the 78X is a beautiful bird in flight. The plane was headed due north so my guess is it was doing the Myrtle Beach training run.

It’s routing Charleston - Osaka - Singapore leaving US on the 26/3 to arrive in Singapore 28/3. I don’t have the times but for the time zones it leaving Charleston in the evening so therefore landing in singapore the morning of the 28/3 is guess.

regarding the PDX tour bus issue... when Boeing is repositioning staff or sending a group for some specific purpose (say filming the aircraft's painting) and use their own plane, they will charter a bus to meet the plane and transport the team around.

I still find it odd that the 780's engine isnt painted off-white faint light grey as with every other SQ plane in service. Is SQ revising its livery code again, or is it just temporary?

Problem is a lot of 787s also have coloured nacelles. BA, QR, VS, to name a few. The rest with white nacelles seems to be because of the livery codes. 9V-SCA might have white nacelles now since it was a Boeing prototype jet, and it might as well be delivered to SQ using these white nacelles, but the question is whether or not they will retain the white nacelle either for performance or brand design reasons.

If they do retain the white nacelles for performance reasons, then the 780s will be unique among SQ birds, and other airframes might follow suit.

If its a brand design reason, then either :
a) 9V-SCA will be repainted to have the grey nacelle at some point in the future, or
b) All other SQ airframes will be repainted to look like 9V-SCA with its white nacelles.

It is customer choice. SQ may decide to keep the white for the 787 and keep light grey for everything else. Scoot also has white nacelles. SQ may want the white on their planes so they can easily share engines/cowlings.

Personally I think the white engines suit SQ’s livery much better than the grey.

It's 78J, not 780...at least get it right.

IATA is 78J and ICAO is 78X.

The official IATA Code for the 787-10 is 78X.

IATA lists it as 78J.

Fair enough. ICAO is B78X and that seems to be the preferred one to use on a.net based on posts (same with ICAO A35K for the A350-1000 instead of the IATA 351).

I can confirm that was SQ's 787X. I work relatively close to the airport right under a STAR and a SID. SQ pilots have been flying 9V-SCA non stop for several days now. Boeing test pilots used to be the main voices over the radio for the training flights now it is mostly the SQ pilots. They must be getting the hang of it now!

Thanks. I've been really enjoying your pics and reports. My wife and me were visiting Magnolia Plantation on 3/22/18 when I saw the 78J SQ bird. Absolutely beautiful in flight. Even from a few miles away the plane is huge. I pointed it out to my wife who stifled a yawn...."yeah, that's nice dear.". Lol.

LN 315 has been reregistered from N887BA to P4-BDL, which suggests a delivery to Somon Air has taken place because their two B737-900ER are registered in Aruba aswell.

Slightly off-topic but the first QF non-stop flight from PER>LHR is currently en route. Another long flight similar to UA's SFO>SIN. Both use the B789 of course! Truly amazing how this aircraft performs, but I'm wondering whether the QF flight will take a payload hit at certain times of the year?

A very reliable source has told me it will depart 2200ish CHS time. Not sure if your times are all in local Singapore time but I'd love for it to depart CHS at 1100. Much better lighting hah

Weather is pretty dismal here today. Cold and rainy. I drove by Boeing this morning and they have a stage set up in front of 9V-SCA but I'm assuming due to the weather whatever they had planned has been postponed until 2000 CHS time.

I tried pretty hard to get invited to the event today but didn't get a reply from anyone at Boeing unfortunately. But Sam Chui is in Charleston for the event and he is frequently posting pics from inside the facility and out on his Instagram. They are pretty neat. Wish I could've been there. I'll drive by again tonight to see if anything worthy is going on from outside the fence blah.

I stopped by it was pretty cool. Huge projection from top to bottom on the main building with the -10 in front all lit up in different colors.

Gulf Air has a flypast scheduled for next weekend’s Bahrain F1 Grand Prix

Rumored on instagram to be the 787, but no confirmations anywhere

Anyone know when it’s expected to roll out of the paint shop and how something like this would work given it’s not scheduled for delivery until the middle of April?

The first frame of Gulf Air has not been in the paintshop yet nor has it been moved to it so I don't expect it to be doing the mentioned Flyby
