I believe the fly away to China is scheduled for the 8th. Or at least it was a few weeks ago.

Indeed you're right, just checked with Airbus source, it is on 8th for both.

Not surprisingly they chose 8/8 as the first delivery of a new plane. 8 is a lucky number in China. And 4 is a bad number :D

Quite a lot of deliveries could happen this month, with all the Chinese carriers A350's finally flying home, and at the same time clearing a lot of backlog/space at TLS for Airbus!

I think I'm right in saying that MSN 60 was originally meant to be delivered to UL, and even had the tail painted in UL livery when it was being built.

Great video of the last MH a350 delivery by Sam Chui...

Instrumentation shows a oew of 137.9t and this not the latest build standard which is even lighter.

It seems like the Airbus 350-1000 test aircraft MSN 65 & 71 has officially been transferred to French Bee and Virgin Atlantic respectively.

Does these mean Airbus only have one A350-1000 test aircraft left?

Still no news regarding the fate of the A350-900 test aircrafts? MSN 2, 3 & 4 still to remain stored?

Will MSN 71 be one of the 8 Virgin Atlantic has on direct order from Airbus or a 9th ? Or maybe it could be a 5th from Air Lease. Anyone know.

BA first 1000 is ln326 I think. Will it be in service before the end of 2019? Also will the Airbus and Boeing pilot pools at BA be totally separate? Does BA try to move pilots from one to the other or are training costs too high for this to happen? Union / agreements probably come into the equation also. I suppose this applies to the large number of airlines with mixed fleets. But BA with the 380 and 350 widebodies have made a huge change to their fleet.

It is one of the 8 on direct order. Leasers don't really like prototypes...

My data may be old but i have it delivered Summer 2019. Actually i see 4 delivered in 2019 so should certainly be in service by the time the Winter scheduled rolls out.

Rumours abound of a new BA livery launching with the A350. I guess we'll need to keep an eye on the tail...

Really? Where did you hear this? Will be a shame if it is in my opinion as the current speed marquee isn’t quite out of date yet.

It's having the current Union Flag (i.e. the tail logo) put onto the sharklets as well. Nothing major. Source: the internal company forum. There's a picture but doubt I'm allowed to post it.

It would be nice of they would paint the winglets of the 744's as well.

As for a new livery, BA has the best livery in the world IMHO.

No need for a change

Like Comair South Africa do on their 738's. I have to say, I was looking forward to a new livery at last, it's over 20 years since Chatham first appeared, albeit only on Concorde initially. The previous Landor livery was replaced after 12 years and Negus before it slightly longer than 10 years. That said, I do think the current look will suit the A350-1000, perhaps not with the union flag winglets though which seem a bit tacky.

About the Union flag on winglets, does Virgin Atlantic still have any aircraft with them? IIRC, they dropped those after their last livery refresh.

Just been in touch with a friend at BA who is involved with the long haul fleet. He tells me the 777’s are being re painted in Ireland with the 787/A320NEO’s arriving freshly painted so unlikely to see a change.

I cannot help feeling the British flag may look a bit tacky on the wingtips however. Perhaps BA are feeling patriotic with brexit!

Three 744's are still in the previous interim(ish) livery with union flag winglets. They are G-VGAL, G-VROS and G-VROY.

This isn't how the moderators work. They're not reading every post in every thread on a.net. :shakehead:

If you want them to look at a post, you need to report it. They tend not to take too kindly to being criticised either, given they're all volunteers.

Thank you scrimbl for pointing this out. Audidudi as pointed out report the posts, it is a waste of time pointing out post numbers as the moderators can see all deleted posts therefore the post numbers you refer to are not the ones that required to be removed from where we see it

I think you are being overly sensitive, the reply you mention is a new livery being launched on A350 hence you would see it here first, even though I think a.net is far from its old days of quality posts after being free for everyone, I think some -with all due respect- including your complaint is over the top. ironically it also took the thread of topic and I'm sorry for my part.

I noticed on the unofficial A350 delivery website:

https://sites.google.com/site/a350xwbpr ... ction-list

that MSN 98, 112 and 226 are now due for delivery to Hainan Airlines rather than Beijing Capital Airlines. I know HNA are the majority owner of JD, but are they now taking them for these planes for their namesake airline? Also are these the planes that were due to be originally delivered for UL?

The UL frames are going to Sichuan if I'm not mistaken. MSNs 52, 55, and 60, I think.

It was said some time back that HU has decided that all long-haul widebody flying will move from its "regional" airlines to the "main" airline. This would mean no A350s for JD/GS/etc... I don't have final confirmation of that but it would be consistent with the HU message from a few months ago. MSN 226 is now in the paint hangar so let's see if it comes out in GS or HU livery.

98 and 112 were originally headed for Azul , they had Brazilian flag wingtips initially.

Hong Kong Airlines released an internal memo that it will delay the delivery of several aircraft over the next few years.

"While we won't receive any additional A330s in 2018, we will still receive two additional A350s in the fall. Other aircraft that were planned for 2018 and early 2019 will now be delayed until 2019."

HX were due to receive 5x A359s between now and year end. So i guess the last 3 will be delayed to 2019.

HX are looking for new investors since their parent company is having money troubles. If significant money cannot be found, then HX won't be taking any planes at all and in
fact we could see the first used A350s on the market!
