On all my visits to AB (guided tours in TLS & XFW) photography within the whole area was a strictly forbidden (not only inside the hangars...). We were asked to keep even smartphones in our pockets! Violation would have resulted in aborting the tour immediately, so we were told....

Do Boeing do the same thing for the delivery of new aircraft to customers?

MSN 200 JJ #8 too has emerged from cabin/engine fit and has been parked nearby the A380 halls, presumably waiting for paint entry.

An interesting point to note also is that the -900 has higher max operational altitude of 43100 as against 41450 for -1000 .....why the difference?

Positive news on the China front as many of the stored Chinese A350s have had their China regs applied this week. Step in the right direction re: certification and deliveries. 98/B-1069, 112/B-1070, 167/B-1086.
On the LATAM frames, 2 of 4 leases to QR were returned last year. A third one is being returned this month. The fourth is scheduled for a while still. All new deliveries are going to LATAM for operation by LATAM. At least that's the plan. Not as if everything is rosy in Brazil...

FR24 shows it as having flown twice but the tracking spreadsheet we all use seems to have missed these somehow.
I could be completely wrong though.

What is the position vis a vis the earlier JJ A350s and QR. I thought these had been returned to JJ, but noticed that morning that one of them was operating the DOH-BRU route.
When is it planned that all will return to JJ; presumably this new acft (JJ #8) will be delivered to and operated by JJ itself?

AFAIK IB is the one to reveive the first A359 with the new winglets. I'm not sure about ULR version, if you say so...
StTim wrote:The additional testing required for the ULR will mean despite being a lower MSN it will actually get delivered later.

Do we know what the flight test schedule for the A359ULR is yet?
I'd assume it would be relatively short in duration to deal with the relatively small changes such as weights and software?
The aircraft will then embark on a short flight test programme to certify the changes over the standard A350-900 that will bring the additional range capability. These include a modified fuel system that increases fuel carrying capacity by 24,000 litres, without the need for additional fuel tanks. The test phase will also measure enhanced performance derived from aerodynamic improvements, including extended winglets.

Karel's link to the presser ( http://www.airbus.com/newsroom/press-re ... ebut-.html ) gives a bit more clarity but not a schedule:The aircraft will then embark on a short flight test programme to certify the changes over the standard A350-900 that will bring the additional range capability. So the testing is mostly about the modified fuel system and modified aerodynamics. It confirms the presence of extended winglets too.
