Yes and I buy their tickets over others that do 10 abreast for that.

United is awaiting 4 more B77W.

Both AA and AC have received all of their orders.

There has been a FedEx 777F flying in and out of BFI the past couple of days. Anyone have information on what it’s doing? Kind of unusual for 777’s to be doing flight testing out of there.

And Seattle really is UPS's "home base" -- founded there in 1907 -- since moved on.

Question not related exactly to Production/Delivery but probably not worth a whole new thread. Couldn’t find anything in the forums about it.

Is there a reason why Boeing hasn’t developed a freighter based on the 77W? My understanding is that freighters often reach capacity before hitting payload. One would think the added length of the 77W would be helpful in this regard.

I am not familiar with PAE but is that not the approach end of 16R? If it is, it appears like a strange angle of attack.

I'm looking for a website that identifies what the letters mean in Boeing model codes? 77W, etc. Anyone have one off their top of the head?

The 77W is the 777-300ER. E is the 5th letter of the alphabet, and if you count 5 from R (eg STUV then W), you get why it's the 77W.

It's pretty interesting to read this and see large global airlines still gobbling up 77Ws.

You read the rest of a.net, and you think the -300ER is a gas guzzling hog compared to A359 or 787-9.
And yet, more and more keep getting delivered to blue-chip airlines.

I know the line is nearing the end of a long run, but, the plane is clearly still delivering value to airlines.
Does anyone know how much more efficient a 2018 77W is than one of the first ones off the line?

Delivering value to customers is the key. Purchase price. Discounts. End of production runs to keep the line open while Boeing ramps up 777X. Surely?
Plane mad!

Well the 777-300ER is a "gas guzzling hog" compared to more modern airliner families (the delta is around 20% to the A350-1000, which is about twice what the delta between the A340-600 and 777-300ER was) so as the A350-1000 and 777-9 enter serial production we should start seeing significant retirements. But until then, the 777-300ER is still a money-maker extraordinaire, especially when fuel remains relatively "cheap" and an airline can get one now and earn serious money operating it years before they could an A350-1000 or 777-9.
