I`d imagine StTim is spot-on, seem to remember hearing that QR were working this plane hard since EIS.
Certainly haven`t heard of any issues at least.

The next A359 delivery came in early so i think they saw an opportunity to do a check on the A35J while keeping the LHR flight on the new J class suites before the schedule turns over on July 1st.

could also be a couple of booked training days, as they only have the one available. Get the cabin crews and ground staff educated on differences.

Could it be because Qatar is planning on displaying the A350-1000 at the FIA2018? Perhaps they're getting any maintenance and cleaning stuff done early.

The a35k is on it's first ultra long haul flight from Doha to Miami. The aircraft is at fl360 as it starts crossing the Atlantic- a good 4000-6000 ft above 777's on similar route lengths from the middle east.

This is a one-off to position the aircraft for a charter for Bayern Munich FC. The aircraft operated QR778 Miami - Doha on 26th July having dropped Bayern Munich off in Miami.

Now some 300 nm in the south of iceland at FL 300 and apparently with an higher groundspeed as the surrounding T7 at FL340 or above.

Of course, winds are stronger in higher flight levels, they are usually headwinds.
That's why their ground speed was higher at FL 300 than at FL 340

Any information as to how the A350-1000 performing in service? It appears Qatar frames pretty punctual but CX seem frequently well adrift of schedule .....could CX use it as substitute aircraft on regionals so ad hoc ....hopefully once deployed on long haul routes figures will improve.

The past few weeks in Hong Kong have had a lot of rain and bad weather in the area. Add to that airspace saturation and you get big delays. As far as I know, it isn't only the A350-1000 but most of the network. In addition to all that, we have been short on aircraft recently especially the A350s (Due to a few technical defects on the -900s), but also the rest of the fleet.

Many thanks for placing CX performance in context. Appreciate issues touched upon and situation being of a broader nature rather than A350 specific.

Been doing okay, received regulatory approvals to conduct CAT3B withe the -1000. Also have received ETDO 240 minute approval for the -1000, something we never got approved on the 77W. The -1000 will soon ebe starting the longest flights in the CX network.

Looking at some lease reports for QR and MH A359's, average daily utilisation 15 to 17 hours, which is not unusual for new aircraft, but will fall as maintenance, inspections, aging and lease T&C's come into play.

We started off around 12 hrs per day now average around 16 hrs. The C check is due at 36 months, 2C 36 months, and 4C 144 months. I don’t see a big change to the fleet average hours per day as they go in for C checks. Our oldest A350 already has flown over 10,000 hrs.

Both make a lot of sense. EZE uses the more efficient fuel burn of the A350 over one of the longest routes in the IB network and ORD is perfectly timed to maximize utilization for the frame.

EZE makes sense being Iberia's most frequently flown to destination in the Americas, with up 5 daily flights on certain days beginning this southern summer: 3 with IB from Madrid and 2 with LEVEL from BCN.

Quite a few announcements from IB today, mostly on Latin America:

* EZE & ORD to get the A350-900, EZE from February 2019

* GIG, MVD and UIO will get daily flights from July 2019 onwards

* LIM to get 3 extra weekly flights, for a total of 10 weekly

* Premium Economy to be offered on flights to HAV and JNB

* SFO confirmed back on the 2019 summer schedule
