Shaheen is shrinking, 50% cabin staff reported fired and three A320s being returned to lessor, in June they ended A319 operations, three sub-leased to Fly Egypt and Royal Jordanian all flying in Shaheen livery, three returned to lessor. New livery also not appearing on the older fleet, rumored the airline may shut down.

Correct.

Serene Air has been in operation for just over 18 months and currently only serves 6 destinations all domestic with a fleet of 3 B738.

With the recent announcement that the airline intends opening up their first international routes I wonder if they intend purchasing any additional aircraft.

Seen Serene Air in PK, they seem really organized, and efficient. Wish they start, I hope they expand east first then west, DXB, JED, KUL, BKK, DMM, seem like some good destinations to start up.

Waiting for a airline to develop a successful hub in PK.

Isn't ISB a protected airport where the PAK government has controlled the ME3 expansion? If so, I would keep the A380 out. PK does a decent job of connecting ISB nonstop to EU. Also the A380 is not that great. It is a pain to board and deplane, be it in J or Y. I have always been confused why people on net love it. Sure EY's F apartments are nice but most are flying Y where you feel like you are in a hostel.

I read the government froze flight weekly frequencies for the ME3 at LHE, ISB and PEW due to 'infrastructural constraints'. But considering ISB has a brand new airport there really shouldn't be any constraints remaining.

I for one find it strange the government allowed EK/FZ to expand so much at KHI (taking business away from other airlines) and protected the 3 other major cities. Doesn't make any sense. I understand if they allow unlimited frequencies to the smaller airports like Quetta and Gilgit etc. to try and encourage growth in these places, but if they are going to control flight frequencies then KHI should also be included.

India is smarter in this regard as they keep capacity from Indian airlines and the ME3 equal.

Karachi has a limited open skies policy since 1992 when new terminal was opened.

Quetta has only two foreign airlines at present, historically it had two others from across the western borders, whatever few international services PIA had from there ended and no pvt carriers showed interest in doing so.

Gilgit is a prop only domestic airport served by PIA, Skardu gets A320 but despite big talk of flying to these places, no pvt one has, not sure if there is enough international service potential.

For now, it seems only once a week permission was granted, Shaheen is already accusing CAA of ending their ISB-DXB flight permit to benefit A380 ops.

A380 is already flying few times a week to ISB, According to there online booking. Pakistani airlines need to focus on developing there companies, making good functional apps, training there employee's how to deal with pax, create new IT infrastructure, need to develop way to connect east and west traffic, Pakistan airlines can slowly rise offer people cheap connections, alternative route option just like now people take Air India to other destinations outside of India like BKK, KUL, and now Australia.

Etihad reducing KHI service yikes, I wonder when they will start service to PEW again, and LYP, SKT, MUX, and Quetta.

Shaheen has officially ended Guangzhou route, initially a few services were canceled due to ongoing financial situation over the past week.

Shaheen MD/owners mother.. a Canadian lady, who was or is one of the board of directors, has intervened and stopped the airline from reducing employees.

Over 200 cabin crew given one month notice for termination, so her intervention didn't work.

What is going on with EY. Cutting A320 route to KHI. How can they not make this work. Makes you wonder how much the ME3 really make on South Asian routes. That said, a leaner EY will probably be best in the long run. Make their main hub bank to EU/US work with South Asian traffic and then expand.

Markhor logo still adorns A320 AP-BLU and was misreported as having been removed, latest pic http://i67.tinypic.com/2ivk9vo.jpg

PIA is also to order 7000 model aircraft of 772ER in 1:200 scale, in new livery.
