Schiphol airport is reporting on Twitter:
Status update due to severe weather conditions: all air traffic has been suspended until further notice.

On their website (translated):
Update 11h20 All flights have been cancelled until further notice

It's quite an impressive storm here in The Netherlands. Aside from the air traffic in AMS, all train service in the country has been suspended. Amsterdam public transport has been shut down as well. The situation on the road isn't much better either, with trucks being blown away. National television is broadcasting extra news bulletins.

AC824 just went missed, three more on short finals.

Railway traffic in the entire country has been suspended as well.

I saw the KL736 CUR-AMS (747) diverting to CPH earlier this morning and lots of other aircraft going to BRU. Some aircraft reported negative ánd positive wind shear from 2000' to 500', overheard one a/c reporting 40kts wind shear positive and negative! Loads of fallen trees on roads and railways as well.

The 747 from YYZ is giving it a shot...

Yeah, made it. AC824 looks like heading to LHR.

I'm not sure why the airport is reporting that all flights are suspended. There are a few arrivals and departures. UA and DL just left, and KL and AY just landed. AC seems to be headed for LHR after a go around.

The approach itself is more tricky than the landing in this case. Especially with an westerly wind blowing from the sea, it can create quite heavy turbulence / wind shear at 1000-2000 feet.

We expect that flight traffic will gradually restart around 12.00pm.

Entrances to Departure halls 1 an 2 are closed due to panels falling of the building. 3 people have been wounded. (source: NOS)

Yep, that hit us five hours ago. We lost power for 15 mins and it sounded horrendous. Waking up this morning I found the wind had tossed a full size freezer (that I use as a grain store). Whereas the wind had no problem, I struggled to put it back into position because it is friggin' heavy.

But the storm passes quickly, and just a couple of hours later you could be outside in your T-shirt enjoying the sunshine and clear skies.

If any of those aircraft can hold for 60 minutes, it should turn out fine, and that seems a better option than a lengthy diversion.

Airport slowly starting to reopen. Expect long delays...

Problem is with the westerly winds coming from the sea, you can expect moderate turbulence (it's even noted on the ILS approach plate 27) when the winds are higher than 30kts. In this case, landing wind was up to 65kts at some point, so what you'll get is severe turbulence, windshears etc at slightly higher altitudes (1000-2000 ft), and the landing itself could be quite okay.

Just landed in from JFK-CPH, and saw her and thought, "Well, that's not supposed to be here..." was wondering how she ended up here... nice to see one of those in CPH though!

My Flight Attendant spouse who was getting ready to board pax on her DTW AMS flight texted that when winds hit 65 MPH, they had to deplane the crew, and wait things out in the terminal. They eventually left 2.5 hrs late. She said the empty AC was rocking like it does in the mid-pacific hitting clear air turbulence while sitting at the AMS gate. Winds hit 80 MPH. No pax were allowed on the AC during this period. This was 10-11am AMS time.

Sounds like a typical day at DFW.
