Hello -
We have a fairly accurate high-level overview of international services available out of DFW per what is available in the GDS. The data is taken from July/August 2018, compared to July/August 2017, which means that the sample in this distribution is subject to a small standard error / standard deviation for May / June / August / September months.*
To view last years' data, please visit

This data is taken from PUBLICLY-available sources and compiled in such a manner to get a broad view of what information has been loaded into airline reservation systems. As such, it is subject to CHANGE at any given time. If you see any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions, please feel free to post a response in the comments section below, but I urge you to do so POLITELY, as it is very time-consuming to put this report together and nearly impossible for it to be error-proof. Thank you in advance. High-Level Summary of the Changes from S17:
• Perhaps the most salient takeaway is that American Airlines is utilizing the Boeing 777 family on the vast majority of long-haul flights from DFW. All flights to Europe and deep South America will be on 777-200ERs, with the exception of London Heathrow and Sao Paulo, which will be 777-300ERs. Asia will continue to see 777-300ER deployment to Hong Kong and 777-200ER to Narita (2 daily), while Beijing, Shanghai, and Seoul will all be on 787-9s. There will be no 787-8s flying long-haul from DFW by end of the summer, although this is subject to change.
• One MD-80 international route remains, which is a daily service to Toronto.
• The vast majority of Americans 777-200ERs have been retrofitted with the new cabin configuration (37 J, 24 W, 212 Y) vs. the old configuration without Premium Economy (25 J and 215 Y). Presumably, these birds will come to DFW this summer. Also worth noting is that, all five daily flights to the Hawaiian Islands (2x to HNL, 2x to OGG, and 1x to KOA) will be on 777-200ERs, and may include Premium Economy as well.
• There were very minor changes to AA's short-haul trans-border routes, along with Latin/Caribbean leisure and VFR markets, compared to the YoY changes in Summer 2017 vs. Summer 2016, despite the natural disasters from Fall 2017
• Three new carriers will be flying from DFW to Iceland this summer. WOW Air will commence on May 24, 2018 and Icelandair will commence May 30, 2018. Both will run year-round (presumably). American Airlines will start flights from DFW to KEF, running from June 7 through October 27.
• Other noteworthy changes: capacity on non-AA carriers to Europe, the Middle East, and near Latin America will remain flat year-over-year, with the exception of Etihad (who is cancelling service to DFW in March 2018). Asia, however, is a different story, as JAL is up-gauging DFW from a 787-8 to a 787-9, and Korean Air is up-gauging Seoul from a 777-200ER to a -300ER.
One new market: Reykjavik (AA, FI, WW)
One discontinued carrier: Etihad Airways
Two discontinued markets: Abu Dhabi (EY) and Panama City (AA)
