No injuries, but damage to the airframe.
It closed the airport, which has been reopened yesterday.

Wow, "skidded off the runway". According to Aviation Herald it was 400 meters!

A write off, perhaps?

That's one hell of an overrun. Almost certainly a write-off with this type, age and kind of incident.

Glad to see the door still attached, unlike their previous incident!

Nigerian authorities get upset because DL didn't report their incident yet they still allow this joke of an airline to be in the air.

Remembering the tragedy of 9J-922 on June 3rd 2013 (read the shocking final report here http://avherald.com/h?article=4508fb60&opt=0 ), I ask myself, what kind of safety culture this company follows...

According to their Press Statement:
Dana Air is resolute in adhering to globally recognized safety standards...

With a MD-80 worth less than a quarter million dollars, a certainty this plane is parts.

What caught me was that they had a dual engine failure, to which the crew did not respond correctly; obviously.
But the reason WHY these failures happened was never really determined, or so it seems.

Mental note to oneself: avoid DANA.
