British Airways A388 at MNL

Does anyone know what a BA A388 is doing at NAIA? There is no previous information on this aircraft (G-XLEF) on FR24

Does BA use Lufthansa Technik for maintenance? They have a base in MNL (eg Qantas use them/have used them in the past for 380 C Checks).

The flight number gives a clue... 9000-series typically mean ferry flights for maintenance/repositioning (8000-series are usually 'make-up' flights for a cancellation)

Based on Google Maps, yes. See their hangar below with two 777s for scale. There's also another two large hangars adjacent, I just don't know if those are also Technik's. Also on the apron is a bunch of PR metal

Such a big facility at a really congested airport. Time to consider the relocation of Lufthansa Technik to CRK.

Lufthansa Technik Philippines also handles A380s from LH, OZ, and QF.

G-XLEF is now back in service, operating BA12 from SIN to LHR this evening. Meanwhile, G-XLEG "Leggy" is on her way to MNL.

We're only talking about a few movements a month so I can't see it being much of a problem.
