SaudiGulf’s Chief Commercial Officer Karim Makhlouf said at the weekend that the agreement covers talks for the 787-9 and 787-10 or the 777-200 and 777-300 jets. The airline previously said the deal could include Boeing 777s.

They have a 'firm' order for 16x CS300 and also mentionned taking their CS300 as an option. I guess they have an opt-out clause due to delays in deliveries.

Or it might be that they intend on taking the CS300 and are mulling 320 and 737 as a negotiation tactic with BBD when discussing penalties and calendar for deliveries.

Remember that the CS300 is about A319/73G sized. They are probably looking towards A/B for larger narrow bodies.

777-200s? These would have to be LRs?

So the ME3 are going to be the ME4?
Many happy landings, greetings from The Netherlands!

Does Boeing own some 777-200ERs that they can lease out to this airline as a interim solution before they can deliver 787s? I just can't see Boeing still offering an airline like this brand new 777-200LRs. I could see them taking new 77Ws, but a 787 order is most likely by now, otherwise they will already offer them the 777X.

We'll see if this turns into an actual order. It wouldn't be the first time that such announcements are never followed up with an actual deal.

There are already more then just the 3 ME3 airlines on the Arabian Peninsula that have sizable wide-body fleets. If SaudiaGulf succeeds they most likely be one of those other Arabian airlines.

That caught my eye as well. I'm going with the LRs. But assuming that is what they want, they could pick up the frames that EY just freed up for much cheaper.
