Royal Air Maroc posted a release stating that from the W18/19 season will increase flights to GIG from 3 to 4 weekly and will replace the 763 to the 788. The new schedule is below:
AT212 - GIG 0010 1055 CMN - xWeFrSu - 788
AT213 - CMN 1510 2240 GIG - xTuThSa - 788
This way GIG and GRU will have the same offer to CMN and flights to both cities will operate almost on the same days (except Monday and Saturday).

I find both of these routes to be very interesting. I assume these exist largely for connections between Brazil and Europe? Or are there significant ties between Brazil and Morocco that I just don't know about?

Considering how high prices have been between Brazil and Portugal, I believe they can fill most of the flights with passengers to the Iberian Peninsula alone.
RAM is just taking advantage of how Iberia has been ignoring the market.
TAP has been having difficulty reacting because of fleet difficulties.

You’re right, it’s largely for connections to Europe from Brazil. There’s only an estimated 3,000 Moroccan immigrants in Brazil and even less Brazilians in Morocco, and business ties are also very slim.
