Here it is: Air Transat's first A320 emerged from paint and is due to enter service later this month.

Looks like they used decals or at least partial paint for the livery. You can see the window repair and the yellow engines that suggest it was an ex Thomas Cook bird. Still looks good though.

Did the A330 have yellow engines or is everyone trying to outdo Lufthansa now ? ;-)

Ex. Condor D-AICL.

Second one is in the paint ( or should I say decal) shop as we speak.
us Air Traffic Controllers have a good record, we haven't left one up there yet !!

She looks great! This A320 fleet all seemed farther away when first announced last year and here it already goes!

I am pretty sure decals for seasonal leased planes, especially narrowbodies, is fairly standard for TS. If they get adopted full time they usually get a paint job in conjunction with offline mx checks.

I must have missed something. Wasn't the original agreement strictly for the A321LR? Glad to see an A320 in TS colors nonetheless.

It looks just great with that nice logo of TS. Remember when they had a pair of Star Airlines A320s ages ago. Should enter service this Saturday: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1388307

The 330 engines are white. Perhaps they'll keep the yellow engines on the narrowbodies.

Interesting, livery looks better on the 738 but will look very nice on the A321LRs

Why did the 737 not work out for them? Range or reliability?

Yes in B737-800WL super nice but I think it will not be new in my opinion because it must be replaced by precisely the A320 / 321?

They needed something under the A330 with reasonable TATL ability to replace the aging A310 fleet.

The A321NEO was eventually selected for that. As a consequence, the 737NG ops are gradually transitioning over to A320/321CEO for commonality and interoperability.

They'll be operated in all Y180 configuration to outside of Canada destinations and C/Y176 within Canada with sort off Club Class to connect passengers to/from long-haul flights.

It's line number 1416, so right around where the wing reinforcements would make sharklets stupid expensive to retrofit. Don't think it has them, don't think it will ever get them.

Not trying to bring out another pointless A vs B argument here, but the "snow bird" market is getting very diverse in recent years.
Those sun destinations are flown by 737-600(TS), 737-700 (TS), 737-800 (SW/TS (still?)/WS), 767-300ER (WS/RV), A319(RV), A320(now TS), A321(RV) and A330-2/300 (TS)

I wonder how they perform differently, since there has been talks about ACR (RV) is at a disadvantage because their A319 does not fair well against the 737 from Sunwings and Westjet. They tired to get some (even brand new) A321 to add capacity on popular route such as YYZ/YUL-VRA but those A321 are expected to transfer back to mainline (unless this plan has been changed).

Since they are almost purely cattle transport, the Airbus's container load/cargo capability are not game changing advantages, I wonder if the 737 are better suit on those routes :/ ?

Didn't Air Transat have A320s at one point in time? Or is that just my memory going kaput :scratchchin:

Just nitpicking, but Westjet is the only operator of 737-600s in North America. I think SAS is the only other operator of the -600 as well.

I do find it oddly entertaining after all the fuss over the lack of yellow in the new Lufthansa livery that here we have a brand new livery that's already a hybrid with copious amounts of unmerited yellow all over the cowlings. Can these two airlines arrange a swap ? ;-)
