I'm in the FLL airport and the Air Canada Rouge gates are packed beyond belief. They are not going anywhere for a while. Anyways, didn't this just happen to Air Canada earlier this year? It also seems to be happening much more to airlines around the World. Anyways, it is very chaotic here in FLL right now. One of the Delta gate agents here, has made the announcement: "Unlike our friends next door at Air Canada, Delta's System's are ready for launch, and we'll have you on your way for an on time departure here shortly." Apparently, he doesn't remember the massive outage(s) Delta has had this last year...
What can airlines do to prevent this sort of thing from happening in the future?

Yeah he should learn to filter what he says over the PA... glad I got displaced for my flying duties today though.

My guess is that those AC agents, or whoever handles AC in FLL are pretty ticked off with that Delta agent right about now.

Air Canada gates at FLL are ALWAYS packed beyond belief and chaotic.
The system was affecting everything on the company's web site also. Tried to login earlier to do a few things and kaput. Second time I've had an issue with the Web site in as many weeks.

Based on the look of the ACA agents & passengers' faces, they weren't too pleased. The DAL gate was literally the next gate over from the ACA flight. Had his PA volume all the way up too. Sounded like he was trying to do a comedic SWA style announcement. Everyone at the ACA gate heard it. There were a few ACA passengers at the gate tweeting about it too. Glad they've got it all sorted out now. But when I left FLL, it was still a mess with passengers for multiple delayed 767s crowding the entire terminal. The ACA agents were doing their best though, with the limited info they had.
