Air France returns to Seattle March 25

Sun Mar 25, 2018 5:56 am

Air France is officially launching flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle and Seattle Tacoma as of March 25, 2018. The flight will initially operate three times weekly (Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays), though in the peak summer season will operate five times weekly (with the addition of flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

The schedule for the new flight will be as follows:
AF338 Paris to Seattle departing 1:10PM arriving 2:20PM
AF355 Seattle to Paris departing 4:30PM arriving 11:10AM (+1 day)

The flight will be operated by a three cabin 777-200ER, featuring 40 business class seats, 24 premium economy seats, and 216 economy seats. Business class will have reverse herringbone seats with direct aisle access from every seat, which is tough to beat.

The flight will cover a distance of 5,000 miles, and is blocked at 9hr40min eastbound and 10hr10min westbound.

Photos will likely be posted here on ANET of the event at Seattle on Sunday March 25th.

This is a resumption, not an inaugural. There most likely will be little fanfare.

Correct thanks for clarifying that. :). Hence the word “Returns”. I know several people going for media coverage. Should be a decent turnout for the “resumption“.

Particularly seeing as it's just meant to supplement DL's extant SEA-CDG service.

So was the Aero Mexico relaunch, but they still had celebratory festivities. I would just expect the same type of metal luggage tags as the VS and AM flights .

I mean it is returning to its place of birth after all, who wouldn't want to celebrate their birthday? :D

On post in social media, I called it a "re-inaugural". The only difference is that they are starting with 777-200ER's, instead of A330-200's. This summer, there will be a lot of seats available to CDG with both DL and AF flying 777-200ER's on the route. I've heard that AF will increase frequency from 3X to 5X or 6X for this summer season. Then it will be cut back some and changed to A330-200's in the Fall.

I saw on Flightradar24.com that the AF flight was flying over Greenland and was running about 20 minutes late.

Depends on the time of year. Today (March 25) its an A330. I picked a random date in July - upgraded to 777. The same day AF runs a 777 as well.

This is the first summer that DL is running the 777 to CDG, and HKG from SEA. According to the OAG, the DL 777 to CDG was supposed to start yesterday. So it should start any day...my guess is tomorrow (Monday).

Thinking that this service will bring a lot of cruise traffic to Seattle for the summer cruise season to/from Alaska.
