The J cabin looks really good. Is there no Premium Economy section with less than 3-3-3 onboard?

That is the best 787 Y cabin I have seen.

Overall, both J and Y look good. Colors in J look better than on the A350/A380/777. Looks more elegant.

What is the size of the PTV in Y?

Not gonna lie, but I'm pretty jealous of Sam Chui. I don't know how he pulls off these adventures, but, man, those are some amazing stories he's shared on his blog.

Looks really good, but looks like J might be a pain if you like to peer out the window. Looks like the seat surround blocks the view a bit.

9-across seating, 'torture' seats and narrow aisles. Yes, that is indeed fantastic ...
Signature. You just read one.

Yes, the cabin looks nice, but I shall be honest and say that I'd like to see some more colour from SQ...that blue/grey combination, while very soothing and simple, is a bit on the drab side...I would have liked a richer colour combination, like rust/gold/blue..a tad more adventurous and less reminiscent of 'just any other airline'!

SQ has always represented more of an understated elegance.

You also have to see it in person.
I remember looking at pictures of their new long haul Business last year and thought it looked sterile but when I saw it in person, it is now the most beautiful Business Class seat I've come across.

It's very intelligently designed, all its contours flow elegantly and the colours are warm but with a touch of copper to make it pop without being too brash.

Slightly O/T, but am I the only one who, seeing the window shape/proportions for the 787, is slightly reminded of the window proportions/shape of the Douglas DC-10, or Lockheed Tri-Star? The cabin design/colors, for some reason, made that REALLY pop out for me.

Sure, I agree that SQ are never brash but rather understated, but in the past their cabins were a lot more colourful... I miss that. The overall world standardization of cabins (colour palettes) makes me really rather sad. This particular cabin could easily belong to a German or Scandinavian airline.... in the past you could immediately tell if you were boarding a south-east Asian airline...! I miss that greatly!

I could sell everything I own and move into one of those J seats for the remainder of my life!
Bravo, beautiful...I realize there are bigger and more luxurious F seats, but this is all I would need to be happy.

I also love the curves of the seat, it recalls the graceful curves of the 787 exterior: the wings, nose and tail. It a futuristic airplane with a suitably futuristic interior- yet still warm and inviting.

Yeah, I like it
