SaudiGulf and Boeing signed a MOU for 16 widebody Boeings. No details about the type were given in the statement of the Saudi government, but it was known that the airline was interested in the B777 and B787.

Cheers!

Good order should it become firm. Congrats to both parties.

It is, but the difference is that they've now apparently signed an MOU, so that's noteworthy.

And a month ago they were still having good talks with Boeing.

With this kind of announcements it's always nice if the airline or, even better and the manufacturer issues a press release. Then we at least know from a direct source what kind of order it will be.

Judging by the last thread, it was 777 OR 787, and word was they’d settled on end-of-line 777Ws. Whether that still is the case remains to be seen.

MAX’d out on MAX threads. If you are starting a thread, and it’s about the MAX - stop. There’s already a thread that covers it.

With them being based at Dammam, are these likely to see longhaul service from there, or are they more likely to be based at JED/RUH?

Some gaps/room for growth in the Dammam network such as London, Houston, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Cebu, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, Hong Kong and Jakarta?

Opinions?

Kind regards
