Good to see Vistara add a mix of A321's and 787's. Having 2 aircraft families is not optimum but 787 is certainly optimum from size perspective. Good cautious strategy.

It certainly seems to point to a strategy that will 'not' rely in funneling pax out of DEL. Perhaps, a more point to point service with the mix of 787's/321's.

Wonder how Indigo and Spice play in this chess game.

Are any of them actually going to be A321neos? Or that is unsure now?

Most news articles say A320neo family aircraft, the Airbus tweet just says A320neo.

So it's not fully clear if the A321neo is in the mix, or if it is the case how many they will get.

India is nowhere close to becoming to the largest aviation market though. By 2036 Indian aviation market will be as big as China is today and my then China's will be 3x as big

The next decade is being billed as the Indian Aviation decade where IATA forecasts India to go from #7 to #3 largest aviation market. However in the sam time China will be #1 overtaking the US and both will still be miles ahead.

It will be very interesting to see how the geo-political landscape plays out to see how (and IF) #3 in the aviation market (India) uses that as a bargaining chip/tool to align with (or join forces with) COMAC to be a part of the Russia-China-India consortium OR will align more towards #2 in the Aviation market[USA (Boeing)]. For sure India would be looking towards being a part of the action (action of manufacturing planes) OR ...perhaps alignment in some way with Airbus [#4 aviation market? ]?.

Lots of Indigo frames being produced lately, just seen their first A321neo. That should start final assembly in the next month or 2.

It seems to me that regarding being part of the manufacturing action... that ship has sailed. As Russia and China collaborate there is little room for India to make itself counted since there is little to nothing to show in terms of aviation manufactuing experience. Besides why would you risk your growth by aligning to a block that has a hostile partner. Aligning with the US/Europe will emerge as the politically correct option.

The only NRI involved in this low-rated enterprise is Rahul Bhatia. Stop insulting your own boss.

DGCA just grounded five more NEOs. So many AOG NEOs and 16 years old CEOs discarded by other airlines to save face.

I guess it takes less than 3 days to paint and throw in seats on a 16-year-old clunker. Not have any amenities makes cabin refit easy.

I feel like I felt asleep.
1. How did Jet get to MAX #4 so quickly!
2. I missed Indigo had so few CFM. The high charges last last quarter implies they took some sorry examples to relieve late NEOs.

Judging from the distortions I'm seeing in the A319 market, NEO engine delays have created a short term shortage of A320s...

Lightsaber

Wow, IndiGo took three A320neo in space of a week. Where are they flying all those new aircraft?

GoAir seems to be pretty small compare to other airlines in India. Only Vistas and AirAsia are smaller than it now.

Well for starters, they have just added 100,000 seats at a single airport (BLR) in August. They are scheduled to add 130,000 seats at HYD in September.
