That is absolutely delightful, it loses nothing of the charm of the previous livery, but it's refreshed and modern, a beauty to behold. If w're being picky maybe you could say that the titles are disrupted by the windows a little, but that's a tiny nitpick on an otherwise brilliant job.

I totally agree with you. It’s truly beautiful, and I’m so happy that they not only kept their beautiful livery’s key features but actually improved on it. And it’s rare you can say that in the era of eurowhite!

However...it saddens me that one of the mkt beautiful aircraft-livery combinations this world has ever seen will soon go the way of the dodo. For me TN and the A340 are synonymous with the romance of aviation. I just hope I can organise an LA or Tahiti trip in time before it’s too late...

That is just beautiful. I´m flying with them next week and while my flight will be in one A343 with the old livery, I´m sure that, still, I will be on board of an aircraft wearing one of the most beatiful liveries worldwide. I´m still crying after the "renovation" of the old LAN Chile to the new LATAM Brand...
Honestly, with all the computer and graphic resources available nowadays to try and retry an infinite number of possibilities before making a decision, it is hard to believe the bad decisions some managers take at the time of choosing a livery that will represent your brand all over the world. A request to all the people asking to take the designer of TN´s livery for Lufthansa, please send him to LATAM headquarters after he´s done with you.

A search on Google yield this B787 photo. The airline name is already in the new font so I have to believe this is already in the new livery. Doesn't look much different than the old one. That said, the flower at the tail still looks like to be the old one.

I can't be the only one that blinked and thought they saw a B787 being painted in the bmi colours in the last picture above? The Air Tahiti Nui 787 looks fantastic, but the A340 looked almost as good :)

Why does it still have the older tiare flower on the tail instead of the new stylized one?

I'm with you there. Although, I did like how the "I" ended up nicely in the door emphasis paint.

I totally agree with you both. These Polynesian airlines have the best tropical liveries. All three are very well done.

A great effort for sure, but looking at these photos I can’t help but wonder if it would look better if the division between the white and the blue ran to the tip of the nose rather than above it. I think the way it is makes the balance look off.

The addition of the red years ago ruined it. Same here.

Hey guys,
I love this livery but agree about the use of red. I understand it's connection with the flag but the flag itself is prominently positioned right next to the 'swoosh' anyway! It does detract slightly from an otherwise outstanding and distinctive livery.
Well done, TN. Now, please fly the Dreamliners to Sydney for me!
Cheers,

I used to think that people grumbling about a new livery was going to happen no matter what, but this is proof that redesigns can be so good that they unite the peanut gallery. I'm really not sure how it was so hard for LH.

First aircraft delivered via ALC lease.

There will be a media event also at LAX on Tuesday 09 Oct.

Nice comparison of the old and updated liveries. Note to other airlines - THIS is how you do a brand refresh!

While I agree with you most, the biggest mistakes are the broken "R" & "H", they should move the name a bit higher so that the complete "R" & "H" can be shown probably.

Terrific livery ! They're also in the process of making a new safety video, a la Qantas (displaying a few nice locations in French Polynesia...).

Does anyone know why the new tiare logo wasn't incorporated into the new livery ?

I'm very impressed with their rebranding. I think it looks even nicer than their old livery, which is kinda a rare thing nowadays considering some of the stuff that's been rolled out recently.

I hope they deliver one in that midnight blue colour they initially released as part of the rebranding. I think it would tie in better the red stripe and aqua pattern

Amazing livery, I agree though the windows are an issue, if they thicken up the font it would be 100%

The thought of this intrigued me so I whipped up this EXTREMELY rough photoshop depicting a darker blue similar to the one in the initial logo images. While I think the lighter blue is more evocative of Tahiti and the waters it's known for, the dark blue looks absolutely stunning.

Yep, that's much better. It finishes it very nicely. Thanks for the visualisation.

It’s obvious that whoever designed the livery never informed those who approved it that the titles would be chopped up by the door outlines and windows. They are very hard to read and this could have been solved in many ways.

Indeed, and from a distance the 'Nui' looks as if it is worn and peeled. A casual observer might not realise that it's due to the windows. A slight tweak to the kerning could have placed the stems of all the letters between windows.

Overall I think it looks too fussy, but at least it's not Eurowhite so I'm happy.
