Air Transat A333 C-GTSD still at LGW following engine failure ?

Wed May 09, 2018 9:01 pm

Last week it aborted take off following an engine failure and it appears it's still there. Is it really so?

It was still there as of yesterday. I watched it begin its take-off roll, didn't see the incident itself happen, but the EK 380 was following on approach just behind and I heard it go-around so figured something was up.

So it means they are down to two A333s for the moment with one at GIG.

According to flightradar24, it's not left LGW since May 3rd. What could require such long grounding?

It is still there, hasn't moved, I've not seen any activity around the aircraft over the last couple days. There is also a tech EK A380 parked next to it now as well (as of May 15)

That's A6-EUY. Saw that and the sick TS A333 this evening. Perhaps the safety authorities, or RR, want to take a more detailed look and have prevented the aircraft from leaving.

It has departed LGW about half an hour ago as TS83, most probably heading to YUL.
