That at least looks like the right paint on the v-stab.

We are talking about Cuba here. Have this in mind.

That's a lot of intact pieces of plane that has burned out. Hopefully an indication of survivability!

Also, this incident is less than an hour and a half old.

Until I hear confirmation of any deaths, I'm going to remain optimistic. Remember this "unsurvivable" crash:

Fine, but FlightGlobal ran with it without it even being the correct plane. That's a pretty unfortunate failure.

Is it more of a tragedy if there Americans rather than Cubans dead?

There are a lot of people that won't take the time to even read the thread for 2-3 minutes. They just want to post post post.
It is a 737.
It is a leased plane (almost certainly a wet leas) from a Mexican carrier operating a flight for Cubana.
The only thing I am not clear about was it a 737-200 or 737-500?
The Global Air (Mexico) fleet consists of the following aircraft (as of May 2018):
According to ATDB Global Aerolineas Damojh operate three Boeing 737s: a Boeing 737-200 registration XA-UHZ, a Boeing 737-200 XA-UMQ and a Boeing 737-500 XA-UZK (crashed with hull loss 18 May, 2018 in Havana).
