It Appears that Horizon is being put into place to support the secondary cities on the West Coast so that AS can saturate the major cities.
Especially now that they've settled on the E175's. Just wondering though, Were the Airplanes Delivered CAT1 Only? UAX's E175's were delivered CAT3 capable. That would seem a MAJOR Expense to replace the Navigation computers at this point. Especially since they KNOW they'll have to fly at least CAT2 later in the year.

Is the airport cat 3 capable? Don’t the Qs have Huds?

I left QX before the -175s came on property, but I think I remember hearing that the reason the -175s are only CATI currently is because they will be performing autolands rather than hand-flown CATIIIa. The Q400s as well as the baby Dash and CRJ-700 before it all have/had a HUD, but autoland is a new certification process so it takes time to get the procedure signed off by the FAA. As I said, that was the word before the airplane came on property so things may have changed.

All this talk of Cat I, Cat II for MMH doesn't seem to make much sense. The airport has no ILS, so there's no "CAT" anything.

The only published approach is the RNAV GPS. The minimums for an EMB-175 are *TWICE* what they are for the Q400. The chart (https://skyvector.com/files/tpp/1805/pdf/06841R27.PDF) shows that Approach Category B aircraft (like the Q400) need 1.5 SM visibility, while Category C aircraft (like the E-175) need 3 SM.

Other than that, and certainly with respect to any discussion of CAT-I or -II or -III approaches, I don't see anything germane to MMH.
