XL Airways desk at CLT

Tue May 22, 2018 1:17 pm

I was recently at the Lufthansa desk in CLT and saw an XL Airways counter next to it. XL doesn't fly to CLT or anywhere in the region at that. Anyone have any info?

Was it Xtra Airways and not XL?

Yep, apologies. Is that just a seasonal charter flight?

No worries. Interesting the counter is under Xtra Airways and not Vacation Express.

That's the common use counter. It sometimes shows Xtra sometimes Sun Country, I've even seen it show Allegiant in the past when they had a charter. It seems to just stay on whatever airline used it last until another comes along.

I’ve seen that counter have a bunch of different names. Vacation Express, Sun Country, AeroMéxico one time.

Xtra Airways was to have laid off the majority of its employees by May 19th. Kept one airplane to try to sell with the certificate to any aspiring Part 121 startup. Wonder how that's going.

It's been flying ACY junkets.
