These loser deserve only the oldest available Dash 8 or ATR 72 - or going back by Train!!! ;-) But in fact Lufthansa will send the "Fanflieger" A 321 to Moscow (scheduled departure 12 noon Moscow time). Flight Nr. should be LH 343.

Was initially meant to be an A350 on 16 July, from Moscow to Berlin as LH2018. That is for some bloody reason not going to happen. But don't mention the VAR eh ... ;)

LH02 would be the right fligt number.

Not correct, sry....LH 002 is HAM-FRA, but this flight really is LH343 (arrived at VKO as LH 342) and the aircraft is D-AISQ "Mannschaftsflieger"

D-AISQ is now airborne from VKO as LH343 back to Frankfurt. Some time before, a Helvetic EMB-190 has passed Moscow on the way to Nizhny Novgorod to pick up Swiss supporters after last night's game vs. Costa Rica ...

The train? They should have take the long walk of shame home, in their shooting boots also.

Wait, forgot that they didn't even bring their shooting boots to Russia :white: .

Anyhow, LH343 had landed in FRA.

First 'first round' exit since 1938, perhaps the Junkers Ju-52, D-AQUI should have been deployed ?

Given the fact that they almost played in Asia last night, they should probably just have taken the long way home, via the Pacific ...

As for quarterfinal charters, Swiss has upgauged the scheduled flights from ZRH to LED from A32S to B777 from Monday to Wednesday next week. Heavy metal will also be used by Aeroflot to get fans down from Moscow to Sochi for the Uruguay-Portugal game on the weekend. The URU team has already arrived in Sochi earlier today with an Aeroflot A320.

They traveled in a A340-300 from Air Charter X

For the Belgium vs. Japan game, Brussels Airlines once again sent an A330-200 to Russia, operating as SN1037 from Brussels to Rostov-on-Don.

Tomorrow's game in St. Petersburg between Sweden and Switzerland, there are quite a few flights too, including a Gazpromavia SU95 and a ALK MD82 from Stockholm to LED.

European club football is slowly getting into the groove again, with the Champions League and Europa League currently at the preliminary qualifying stage. Tre Fiori from San Marino will travel to Bala Town (Wales) tomorrow, using a Sprint Air Saab 340 from Rimini to Liverpool:

The regular LX flight (LX1310) has been upgraded to 77W, too - yesterday, today and tomorrow.

As for the quarterfinal charters, there will be a lot of domestic movement within Russia, with fans who are already in the country, but also some more interesting flights:

- Brussels Airlines A319 and A330 from Brussels to Kazan
- Rossiya B777-300/ER from Zagreb to Sochi
- Croatia A319 (3x) from Zagreb to Sochi

Brussels Airlines' A319 OO-SSI is currently descending towards Kazan and will be followed by A330-300 OO-SFM a bit later today. The A330 is currently over the Baltic Sea.

Today I say lots of flight to Zagreb from Sochi, including a Rossyia 773 and 738 and some Croatian airlines A319, all with some happy fans too, I´m sure.

There should have been an ASL Airlines B737-700 from Paris to Nizhny Novgorod plus a number of domestic Russian flights from Moscow to GOJ with the usual suspects, Ural Airlines, S7 etc.

I'm curious as to how thousands of English fans found their way to Samara, Samara doesn't seem like a 'jump on the next flight (or train)' kind of place. That the English were playing in Samara wasn't confirmed until a few days before the game, yet on TV it looked like many thousands of fans made it there. I thought it was pretty amazing.

Surely lots of train travel from Moscow or other more accessible places. Also, there should be a "follow your team" kind of ticketing scheme, where fans can purchase tickets for their team's given path (there are two different paths through the K.O. part of the tournament for each team only). Such path tickets would also give the purchaser certain options in terms of travel, even if of course the train journeys in Russia take a little bit longer ...

The following flights have been added for the semifinal in St. Petersburg tomorrow:
- TUI Belgium B737-800 from Brussels
- Ernest A319 from Paris CDG

The first Belgian semifinal charter (TB9113, B738 OO-JLO) is about 40 minutes away from LED now. Surely tomorrow is going to be as busy as anything at Pulkovo Airport ...

A charter flight using an Uzbekistan B767-300/ER has been added from Stansted to Vnukovo in the meantime for the second semifinal between England and Croatia. Croatian flights include a trio of Croatia Airlines A319/320s as well as a Rossiya B737-800 and B777-300/ER.

Titan's A318 G-EUNB will be going to SVO tomorrow as well.

Currently on the way from Brussels to St. Petersburg is the first of the two Brussels Airlines A330s, OO-SFM.

Another flight from Paris to LED will be on a Blue Panorama B767-300/ER.

The bizjet list for today's arrivals at LED has already grown well north of 30 aircraft and there is more yet to come. Quite a few visitors from China to be noted so far ...

As for tomorrow's England vs. Croatia game, we are now at the following airliners:

- Croatia Airlines A319 and A320
- Rossiya B777-300/ER (from ZAG)
- Trade Air F100
- Adria Airways CRJ-900
- Titan A318 and B737-300
- Uzbekistan B767-300/ER (from STN)

Where do you get all this informations?

The Uzbekistan 763 had already done some charters this weekend, I saw goig to London. Maybe Uzbekistan Airwaus are in excess of capacity and could spare this aircraft?

It will be interesting to check flightradar24 after the game´s end, well, some hours latter.

Any charters of remark to the Champion League games of this week?

Lots of rather straightforward stuff in Champions League action this week, but a couple of standouts:

- Qarabag Agdam once again taking an Azerbaijan EMB-190 to the Western world, playing away at Olimpija Ljubljana
- Celtic Glasgow traveled to Armenia with B757-200 9H-AVM

The Uzbek B767 is on its way from STN to VKO already, UK67006. Surely a massive load of bizjets follow again today, though many might just move over from LED to Moscow. Ops in/around Moscow are obviously more difficult to follow, with three and more airports to be monitored ...

First step: Consult the match schedules
Second step: Figure out which airports (arrival, departure, both) might give you the required information
Third step: Follow up live on radar or even live at the airport!

Rather unusual for the Ajax visitors Sturm Graz to fly from Graz to Rotterdam actually today. They used a Germania A319 for that trip, ferried in and out of XFW for this particular job.
