The often talked about HiFly Malta A380 9H-MIP is on the ground at Stansted and there is a HiFly departure in the schedule for tomorrow, 5K421 at 09.00h to Baku from STN. Interesting ...

Basically yes, but if the interior split that is given by other sources is correct, the Corsair B747-400s still hold more PAX than 9H-MIP. Keep in mind, 9H-MIP is also there to be hired by other airlines if they need to fix their longhaul routes, like Air Austral and Norwegian did in the past ...

MLT638 turned out to be an A340-600, 9H-PGS, formerly with Etihad as A6-EHK.

Gatwick still has one more Baku departure listed, PLM8243 later tonight. This could be the one Wamos A330-200 that is currently at LGW.

PLM8243 finally departed from Stansted this morning, using B747-400 EC-KSM. There are some more flights still on their way to Baku, with this list to be updated as we go today:

Well, the match ended.

It was said on the news that a lot of tickets were not sold to english fans because they weren´t able to find flights to Baku.
In fact the seats on the stadium were not all taken, there were some notable portions of the stadium without any fans.
Now let´s wait some hours and see the flights back on FR24.

SX-RFA landed back from Baku this early morning at Luton. An Azerbaijan Airlines A345 is currently on the way from Baku to Gatwick, where it should land in the afternoon. I guess the empty seats were just the feedback UEFA needed for staging a final so far away.

As for the Champions League final on Saturday, there is some good stuff coming together from Liverpool as well as mainly from Stansted. I have yet to update on the STN movements, but Liverpool has some goodies on the list:

Down with that sort of thing!

I´m sure there was one but I didn´t saw any Airbus doing the return flight from Baku after the Europa league, I saw B787, B747, B737-300 and B737-800, B757, and also and Bae100, but not a single Airbus :) I know there where but I didn´t saw it.

Once again it will be interesting to see the return flight after the final in Madrid.

Any special flights for the women fifa world cup??

CONCACAF Gold Cup Soccer Charters

Tue Jun 18, 2019 1:53 pm

The CONCACAF Gold Cup soccer tournament is being played in cities all over the US. Does anyone know which charter airlines/aircraft are being used to move the teams around the country? If I recall correctly, Delta was a sponsor back in 2017 but I do not know if they actually flew any of the charters.

Madagascar supporters arrived this morning at Cairo to support their team in the match against DRC in the Round of 16 of the CAN 2019.
They flew with the HiFly A380. Some photos of this will be interesting, I think I haven´t seen before the A380 in Cairo.
The match will start at 17:00 GMT (if I´m not mistaken), so...maybe around 22:00/23:00GMT the flight back will take place?

Any more flights to CAN 2019 matches, or the Women´s 2019 World Cup, or the final of the Golden Cup or Copa America final?

As for the Champions League, quite a few of the usual suspects are in action again already. Particularly interesting for this season may be the various KlasJet B737-500s in their different paint schemes:

Air Charter X A343 9H-BIG is leaving MAN on the 9th at 8am (3pm AWST). Could this be bringing Leeds United to Perth, Western Australia as it was only Manchester United who arrived on the Crystal B77L P4-XTL today.

Not exactly the World Cup or UEFA Champions League, but this appears to be the fan charter for New Mexico United supporters heading to tonight's US Open Cup match against Minnesota United FC. The charter sold out 180 seats in under seven minutes, which is impressive for a team that's in the second division of US soccer.

ABC-7 (WLS) in Chicago showed the women's team stepping off their plane, a 757, at EWR. New Jersey (and New York) politicians and state flags for all to see.

I saw on Flightradar24 several flights leaving Cairo to Algiers, some Air Algerie B738 and A330 and a Air Tassili B738. Also a Air Charter B735 from Cairo to Ghardaia, also in Algeria.

Didn´t see nothing going to Senegal.

I guess they were related with the final of the African Cup, played last night between Argelia and Senegal, Congratulations to Argelia!!

Interesting fun fact about a potential FC Basel vs. Dynamo Kiev: A charter flight had already been set up for Kiev to come over and play the game in Basel next week. That Windrose A320 or A321 will not be required now, with both teams losing their ties last night and thus parachuting straight into the Europa League group stage ...

Aeronexus, they’re basically a for hire airline, that 767 is often used by football teams.

Dutch Club AZ-Alkmaar's oponent FC Mariupol used a rare AN-74 to fly to Groningen (probably due to slot constraints at AMS) . It was operated by motor-sich of Uktraine.
