Copa Airlines to fly Panama-Puerto Vallarta effective Dec 16th

I did not see this posted before. My apologies if I did not search/browse in the forum correctly :)

"The Copa Airlines flight will initially operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays, departing at 9:48 a.m. from Panama and arriving at 1:40 p.m. (local time) at the Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport. The return flight will also depart Thursdays and Sundays from Puerto Vallarta at 2:43 p.m., arriving in Panama at 8:07 p.m. (local time). The route will be operated by a Boeing 737-700 aircraft with capacity to transport 12 passengers in Business Class and 112 in the main cabin".

Interesting the flights to Puebla and Villahermosa failed but Monterrey is doing well

I was under the (obviously mistaken) impression that CM had divested of its 73Gs... is that still the plan? How many are left, if so?
I myself, suspect a more prosaic motive... ~Thranduil

The 73G are staying at least for the next five years. Copa Airlines and Copa Airlines Colombia have 10 73G in operation while Wingo has 4 73G in operation. Rumour has it that the remaining 73G operated by Copa are slowy going to be transferred to Wingo.

PBC, VSA and BZE were all started together and only BZE remains from that.
VSA failed because oil crashed about the time it started and it is an Oil based market. very little tourism there.

I understand BGI bookings are strong.

According to their inverstors relations page they still have 14. 4 of them, I believe, operated by Aerorepublica on Wingo (the low cost airline) routes. In their peak, if I remembered well, they used to have up to 20.
