CNN has a short video clip of the seats being made for the flight. They look great but I still wouldn't 19 hours in one.

I have to agree, I wouldn't relish the prospect of sitting that length of time, but by the look of those seats
& the pitch available, economy class ( if you could call it that ) has never been more comfortable. I think
it`s a bold move by SQ, & I very much hope it works out for them. Love to know the final cost of that beauty.

I believe the seats will be sold as premium economy, not regular economy.

After a bit of research via SIA (booking) site, I notice that the A350-900ULR will not have an Economy class cabin. You cannot buy Economy class on these aircraft. The lowest class in these specific aircraft will be Premium Economy. SIA have ordered 7(seven) of these URL aircraft, so these aircraft will be used on SIA ULR routes. Those are Premium Economy seats, being 'advertised' as Economy by SIA? or CNN? on this video, AND SOLD at a Premium Economy price (approx. SGD 3000 one way). You wont be paying Economy class prices. It's basically the standard SIA Premium Economy seat found on other SIA aircraft. Don't be fooled by the 'hype' on this video.
I question who is misrepresenting the product. SIA OR CNN?

with the Number of seats SQ will have in "coach" on an A350? Those seats had BETTER be plush! SQ is going for the longest routes available and None of them is 8 hrs. All it would take is for ONE passenger to suffer from thrombosis and their advantage is OVER. They're saddling a "One Trick Pony" So that Pony had Better be GOOD at his One Trick!!

CNN and its clueless interns acting like they are grown up journalists!

Most on here know full well these are the standard SQ PE seats (with a few updates/tweaks).

Only a fool would sit in these PE seats for 19 hours!!

When I try to book a flight from EWR to SIN round trip Oct 16/Oct 24 I get a premium economy price of $1297 return. Not a bad price for a more comfortable seat--8 across instead of 9; 36" pitch instead of 32". Cathy for the same dates is $838 in regular economy.. Some of the Chinese airlines are considerably cheaper. As with all airline fares, I'm sure the price will vary according to supply and demand. $1297 is no doubt at the low end of the scale.

The seat map for this plane shows 67 business and 94 premium economy for a total of 161.

Their regular A350 has 42 business, 24 premium economy and 187 regular economy.

I'd much prefer 19hrs on SQ SIN-EWR than 17hrs with UA doing SIN-SFO

As opposed to your airline's slave ship 789s out of SFO and LAX? Yeah, why would anyone want to fly SQ instead... sheesh.
