It's an error. The stat is 33 total destinations for WN at OAK this year. So no, they are not adding 33 more. They barely have room for the current number and have expanded into 3 gates in Terminal 1.

Indeed, it seems OAK is going to have to expand soon.

Note that SJC is adding 4 more gates in the next year. I have been wondering if any particular airline has said something to the airport about future plans?

3 gates in Terminal 1 is a surprise as I have only see them use Gates 4 and 6.

No they are 2018 Rumor start dates.
But who really knows when they will start.
It's been over 10 yrs since WN started Hawaii plans.
So 2018,2019 or 2020 I will be happy if it actually happens.

I know there are a handful of 737-800s that are certified ETOPS. Will they exclusively be doing the Hawaii flying? With all the Max's coming online, are any of them going to be ETOPS? I don't recall seeing anything saying they would be aside from a lot of A.netters speculating ETOPS route the Max's could fly.

I thought I saw Southwest gate paraphernalia at gate 3 but I could be misremembering; I don't see any WN departures there yesterday or today.
